This is the debut single by Ninja, an idol group from Johnny’s.

Released in 1990, it’s a remake of Hibari Misora’s “Omatsuri Mambo.” Ninja, together with Hikaru GENJI and Otokogumi, were called the Shonen Gosanke (the Big Three of boys’ groups).

They made a splashy debut, appearing on the Kohaku Uta Gassen in their debut year and sweeping various new artist awards, but they never truly broke through.

After releasing 13 singles, they went on hiatus.

“Original Smile” is SMAP’s 13th single, released in June 1994.

It peaked at No.

2 on the Oricon weekly chart and sold over 400,000 copies, marking a period when SMAP was establishing a solid presence.

The song was used in Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Oronamin C commercials.

With its bright, uplifting lyrics and melody, it captivated many fans and even topped fan votes for best-of albums.

It has also been included in music textbooks and is a staple for energizing school events such as sports days.

When I think of youTOKIO

When introducing TOKIO’s songs, there’s no way we can leave out this jewel of a ballad! It’s one of the group’s masterpieces—a beautifully mellow love ballad.

Delicate guitar tones gently intertwine with vocals that are sweet yet tinged with sadness.

The song is written from the perspective of a shy man, and the way it carefully portrays the wavering of a heart in love is truly captivating, don’t you think? Released in February 1999, it also served as the theme song for their flagship variety show and was included on the acclaimed album “YESTERDAY & TODAY.” It’s a track that stays close to your heart on quiet nights when you’re thinking of someone special.

It’s a mid-tempo ballad whose straightforward message—that the presence of the person beside you makes you stronger—hits you right in the heart.

Sung powerfully by SMAP, the song gently teaches us that true happiness is hidden in the small moments of everyday life, set against scenes of dusk.

Released in May 1998, it became a memorable track for many as the theme song of the Monday 9 p.m.

drama “Brothers,” starring Masahiro Nakai.

Put it on as BGM during a drive with someone special, and you just might find yourself able to express the gratitude that you’re usually too shy to say out loud.
