Fukuyama Castle in Hiroshima Prefecture is said to be the closest castle to a train station in Japan. Joka Fes is a festival held in the castle town of Fukuyama—an entirely new kind of event. It’s a circuit-style festival that takes place across multiple venues within the castle town. Because it approaches things from a perspective that hasn’t existed before, it’s a very exciting event. We may also see more music festivals in the future that make use of castle towns.
