Recommended for junior high school sports days and athletic festivals! A collection of funny slogans

At sports festivals, we put up slogans to boost everyone’s motivation to give it their all.

Straightforward slogans like “Let’s do our best” or “Let’s aim for victory” are great, of course—but if you’re making one, wouldn’t you like to stand out from other teams with a fun, catchy phrase?

In this article, we’ve gathered ideas for amusing slogans recommended for junior high school sports festivals.

We’ll introduce a variety of phrases, organized by genre, including playful twists on well-known commercial taglines and famous quotes from celebrities and anime characters.

Use these ideas as inspiration when creating your own slogan!

Interesting phrases (1–10)

The ultimate showdown of sweat and bonds that moved all of America to tears

The ultimate showdown of sweat and bonds that moved all of America to tears

This is a slogan that incorporates the classic phrase often used when Hollywood movies are released in Japan: “All of America cried.” It powerfully conveys just how moving it is to see people approach the competition seriously and to watch everyone cooperate and take on challenges together.

By using the word “America,” it suggests a level of emotion so great it reaches far away.

It also carries a touch of humor by prompting the question of what connection there is between a school sports day and “all of America.”

CM series (1–10)

Next, we’ll introduce slogan ideas that use phrases from TV commercials! TV ads often have lines that really stick with you, right? We’ve gathered ideas that creatively adapt those well-known CM phrases—the kind that make everyone think, “Oh, that’s from that commercial!” Fill in the blanks in the phrases with your team name or anything you like.

We’re only featuring some CM phrases here, but if you have other commercials you think are perfect, try adapting them in the same way and use them!

Is it possible for Team ◯ to win? Of course it is.

Is it possible for Team ◯ to win? Of course it is.

The “Ariel” commercial featuring Toma Ikuta, Erika Toda, and Aki Higashihara uses the catchphrase “Ariel desho,” which is, of course, based on the word arieru (“possible”).

It’s a bit of a pun, but it’s funny how you never really get tired of the phrase.

It might be fun to turn that Ariel commercial into a parody and use it as a cheer slogan.

“Is Class ○’s victory possible? Ariel desho!” is a classic among classics.

Try coming up with phrases as a class that make good use of the “Ariel desho!” part!

Can’t stop, won’t stop—the victory of Team 〇〇.

Can't stop, won't stop—the victory of Team 〇〇.

We also recommend parodying the “Kappa Ebisen” commercial with its catchphrase, “Yamerarenai, tomaranai, Kappa Ebisen” (“Can’t stop, won’t stop, Kappa Ebisen”).

That distinctive melody is widely known, and the phrase just begs to be said.

All you have to do is swap out “Kappa Ebisen” for something that fits the rhythm, like “Class ○ wins” or “Champions: Class ○”! And to go with it, how about using “Kappa Ebisen” as the motif when you make a big banner? Replacing just the shrimp’s face with the homeroom teacher’s face would probably be a hit, too.

Commercials are full of catchy, rhythmic phrases.

Try hunting for ones you can repurpose as a slogan!

Partnering with you! 〇〇 Festival

How about parodying FamilyMart’s commercial jingle “Anata to konbini FamilyMart” and using the slogan “Anata to konbi ni! ○○ Sports Festival”? With comedians thriving on TV, the word “konbi” (duo) has become quite familiar, hasn’t it? In fact, FamilyMart’s CM itself is a play on words, combining “konbini” (convenience store) and “konbi ni” (as a duo).

The phrase “Konbi ni!” also has the effect of evoking the idea of everyone getting along.

Try making good use of the FamilyMart entrance chime as part of the cheer, too.

Attack! ~Mud stains, to an amazing whiteness!~

Attack! ~Mud stains, to an amazing whiteness!~

It’s a slogan that conveys the powerful drive to push toward victory and the will to win smart.

It plays on the laundry detergent “Attack,” pairing words that simultaneously evoke sports and detergent, which is a fun touch.

It highlights a reckless, unstoppable determination that shrugs off muddy stains, and an ambitious goal to dye the scene in our own colors.

Another point is how the detergent-inspired wording also evokes the fresh air of youth.

Priceless: There are victories that money can’t buy.

Priceless: There are victories that money can’t buy.

It’s a slogan that conveys how winning at the sports festival becomes an irreplaceable memory etched in your heart.

It’s a playful twist on the catchphrase used in the MasterCard commercials, prompting us to think about priceless things that money can’t buy.

The unique part is that only one character changes in Japanese—turning “value you can’t buy with money” into “victory you can’t buy with money.” It suggests a lofty goal, a strong will to seize a once-in-a-lifetime win, and a warm cheer for teammates.

A Burst of Passion!

A Burst of Passion!

To achieve big results, I believe it’s important to tackle challenges with real determination and to push forward together.

This is a slogan that expresses that momentary burst of spirit and the mindset of throwing yourself into a challenge with a burning heart, inspired by the phrase used in the “Lipovitan D” commercials.

The key is that quoting it evokes the imagery of the commercial, conveying in a short phrase the idea of joining forces to overcome difficulties.

And by adding a slight twist to the original phrase, it clearly expresses what we value as we take on our sport.

Title/Product Names (1–10)

Next, we’ll introduce ideas that use titles of dramas, movies, and product names! Whether it’s a beautiful love story or a cool action piece, with a change in perspective they can quickly turn into fun sports day slogans! We’ve picked from a variety of works, including that drama the whole country was hooked on and the names of popular games.

When using titles or product names, instead of just using them as-is, one approach is to insert a word that conveys “victory” somewhere in the phrase or add a short tagline to it!
