Youth and a momentmakaroni enpitsu

A heartwarming song that captures the casual brilliance and fleeting nature of youth.

With a driving melody and sentimental lyrics, it conveys the importance of everyday moments spent with friends and the joy of watching each other grow.

It tells us that the time shared with a bored-looking friend in the classroom after school will one day become a shining memory.

Released as a digital single in March 2019, it was later included on the album “season,” released in September of the same year.

It was also featured in a McDonald’s commercial and selected as the opening theme for TV Tokyo’s Drama 24 series “I Dreamed of That Girl.” As a work that vividly portrays the passion of teammates practicing together for sports festivals and the image of young people striving to cherish each moment, it is a song we hope many students will listen to.

There are times when you can’t help but worry, “Will we still be friends after graduation?” That’s when I’d like to recommend Wakamonotachi.

It’s a track released by the three-piece rock band Zutto Mayonaka de Iinoni.

Set to a driving, fast-paced rock sound, it sings of universal bonds and friendship.

Since it’s mid-tempo, it’s easy to use as background music for videos, and its lyrics make it perfect for moments when you want to reaffirm your friendship.

By the way, the music video is edited in a social media style, so it’s fun to mimic that as well.

A moving work spun from the story of a mug that has watched over someone’s half a lifetime.

In YOASOBI’s music-led tale, the mug sometimes illuminates life’s milestones and at other times gently embraces small moments of growth.

Everyday scenes sprinkled throughout vividly reflect the bittersweetness of partings and growing up that everyone experiences.

Released in December 2020, this work is based on Osamu Suzuki’s novel “Tsuki Ouji” (Moon Prince).

It has also been featured as the commercial song for Takara Tomy’s LCD care toy “Puniruns” and as the image song for “Art Aquarium 2021 — Hakata: Festival of Goldfish,” garnering support from a wide audience.

It is a song that stays close to those who have parted with a cherished memento or who are facing a farewell with someone dear.

This is a friendship song that expresses gratitude to a friend, saying how glad I am that you’re here.

When being together started to feel like a given, listening to this song reminded me how important my friends are.

Even if we might grow apart in high school, I think this song makes you feel like the friendship won’t end.

This is a youthful rock ballad by My Hair is Bad, also included on their sixth album, “ghosts.” Released digitally in June 2024, it was written as the theme song for the film “Crayon Shin-chan: Our Dinosaur Diary,” which premiered in August of the same year.

The lyrics, depicting the shifting emotions from meeting to parting and then to a new departure, leave a strong impression.

The song captures a sense of hope for the future while cherishing precious memories.

Its warm tone makes it a perfect fit for a movie ending theme and resonates deeply.

It’s a recommended track for those who want to reminisce about their youth or overcome a farewell with someone important.

The lyrics were so deep and thought-provoking.

I realized that a best friend is someone you suddenly find is always by your side—you say what you want to each other, fight sometimes, yet still stay close… It made me think that it’s something that just naturally happens before you even notice.

It reaffirmed for me that it’s not something you can force into being.
