FTISLAND, seniors to CNBLUE under FNC Entertainment, is a three-member band consisting of main vocalist Lee Hong-gi, bassist/vocalist Lee Jae-jin, and drummer Choi Min-hwan.

They debuted as a band in their home country in 2007 while still in high school, then made both indie and major debuts in Japan in 2008 and 2010, steadily building their career.

Each member is active in various fields, including acting.

Lee Hong-gi, who is fluent in Japanese, delivers a clear, soaring high-tone vocal that draws you in.

While exuding charisma, they strike a refreshing, well-balanced level of rock, making them a musically approachable band.

N.Flying is a band from FNC Entertainment and the juniors of CNBLUE and FTISLAND.

As of 2023, the group consists of five members: Lee Seung-hyub (vocals & rap), Yoo Hwe-seung (vocals), Cha Hun (guitar), Kim Jae-hyun (drums), and Seo Dong-sung (bass).

After indie activities in Japan in 2013, they officially debuted in Korea in 2015.

They expanded their popularity with the 2019 release Rooftop.

Their signature is a rhythmical sound that incorporates rap, making for a fun beat that blends the best of rock and hip-hop.

The comfortable twin vocals make your heart lift as you listen! They’ve also uploaded many J-pop covers on YouTube, so if you’re interested, be sure to check them out.

ZombieDAY6

The first band from JYP Entertainment—known for producing Wonder Girls and TWICE—debuted in 2015.

As of 2023, when this was written, they are active as a four-member group.

They overcame the condition of debuting with a self-produced song.

Lead vocalist Sungjin’s husky, beautiful voice and the vivid soundscape leave a lingering, elegant aftertaste.

Young K, the bassist and main rapper, is known for his excellent songwriting skills and for providing songs to other artists, such as H1-KEY’s “Rose Blossom,” whose lyrics drew attention in 2023.

Their sound is relatively gentle, making them a good pick for relaxed listening.

Start with their signature track, “You Were Beautiful.”

Lucy is a band brimming with catchy charm in a format different from typical bands.

They are signed to MYSTIC STORY, which is also home to Billlie.

The group was formed following the 2019 audition program Superband.

At the time they finished as runners-up, the vocalist was Lee Juhyuk, but he left to focus on another band.

Since then, Choi Sangyeop has served as the main vocalist and guitarist.

Above all, their lineup incorporates a violin into a three-piece setup—something not often seen even among Japanese bands.

Perhaps thanks to this configuration, they exude an elegant, glamorous appeal.

Their beautiful lyricism and pop sound are wonderful as well!

If you’re familiar with Korean music culture, you’ve surely heard of CNBLUE, a quintessential rock band.

They’re known for coming to Japan to hone their craft and playing countless live shows.

Originally a four-piece, they have been a three-member group—Jung Yong Hwa, Kang Min Hyuk, and Lee Jung Shin—since mid-2019.

They made their indie debut in Japan in 2009, followed by their Korean debut in 2010.

Since then, they’ve been active in Japan as well, steadily moving into veteran territory.

Their sound is characterized by solid musicianship and a broad, approachable range.

They are legendary figures who achieved success in the rarefied Korean band scene.

They debuted in 2015 under their former name, MAS0094.

ONEWE is a band currently signed to RBW, the agency known for MAMAMOO.

As of 2023, they are a five-member group that incorporates piano and rap.

They honed their skills by performing street gigs in Hongdae.

In 2019, the year after transferring agencies, they launched their debut project starting with ‘1/4’ and also made their indie debut in Japan.

The members reportedly all contribute ideas during production, and their genre-defying style is one of their strengths.

Their music is diverse—from refreshing tracks to trot-inspired songs—and they also exude a visual kei-like allure reminiscent of ‘GRAVITY,’ showcasing their chameleon-like versatility.

LOVE YA!HYUKOH

Among Korean bands, Hyukoh commands immense support and deserves your attention.

The group consists of vocalist/guitarist Oh Hyuk, bassist Im Dong-geon, guitarist Im Hyun-je, and drummer Lee In-woo.

All were born in 1993.

They gained support with songs that voiced the anxieties of young people.

Their 2017 album “23” was a major hit.

They convey diverse messages, influenced in part by Oh Hyuk’s background.

They’ve also performed in Japan at events like SUMMER SONIC, so rock and J-pop fans there may already know them.

With a touch of something distinctly oriental while remaining genre-free, they’re a band where you can experience a multifaceted appeal.
