Good DayIU

Good DayIU

The national female artist IU’s “Good Day.” This song captures the feelings of a girl who’s in love with an older man—an oppa—but can’t bring herself to confess and struggles with it.

It not only captivated many men, but also resonated with women, cementing IU’s popularity.

The high-note section, known as the “three-level booster,” is also an indispensable highlight of this track.

IZ*ONE was a girl group that made a time-limited debut in 2018 with 12 winners from the audition program PRODUCE 48.

It was part of the popular PRODUCE 101 series, but featured a new twist as a joint project with Japan’s AKB Group.

The show included 57 trainees from Korean entertainment agencies and 39 idols from the AKB48 group.

At first, the gap in idol performance levels between Korea and Japan was significant, and the Japanese contestants struggled.

In the end, three members—Sakura Miyawaki and Nako Yabuki from HKT48, and Hitomi Honda from AKB48—secured spots in the debut lineup thanks to their strong popularity.

This song from their debut mini album means “La vie en rose,” or “a rosy life,” making it a perfect match for the highly anticipated group.

BANG BANG BANGBIGBANG

BIGBANG is a male artist group representing South Korea.

They made their debut in 2009 and won the Best New Artist Award at the 51st Japan Record Awards in the same year.

One of their signature songs, “BANG BANG BANG,” was released in 2015.

Set to a heavy electronica sound, their passionate vocals resound throughout.

With its exotic atmosphere, it’s also recommended for those new to K-pop.

It’s a dance track whose ever-evolving beats will have your body and heart swaying before you know it.

ICYITZY

ITZY “ICY” M/V @ITZY
ICYITZY

The title track from the 2019 release ‘IT’z ICY.’ It’s a fashionable, punk-tinged dance number.

It conveys a strong determination to go one’s own way without being swayed by what others say.

“ICY” means thin ice, implicitly suggesting that staying true to yourself makes you shine brightly.

ITZY gives off the image of cool girls who know who they are!

Black SwanBTS

A pre-release track from their 4th album, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL : 7.’ The melody exudes the fragile quality that’s so characteristic of BTS.

Their barefoot performance on the American show, The Late Late Show with James Corden, also became a hot topic.

From their graceful dancing and the overwhelming impression of black that seems to dye everything, I felt they were expressing their feelings toward an inevitable “end” that will someday arrive.

It somehow carries the same vibe as ‘FAKE LOVE.’
