Hit songs and fan favorites by Shinsei Kamattechan

Formed in 2008, they gained popularity through posting their original songs and music videos on YouTube and Nico Nico Douga, as well as through live streams, and made their major debut in 2010.

Their style—turning unvarnished lyrics about dark school-day memories and experiences of being bullied into songs, delivered in a near-scream—drew attention early on.

Their self-produced music videos are also a must-see.

This is “Beyond the Concrete,” the fourth track on the album It’s Fun, released on November 14, 2012.

The label is Warner Music Japan.

It seems this album also contains a hidden track.

This release appears to be their fifth original album.

Perhaps because it’s been a while since I last heard an intro that starts gently, the song has a soothing feel.

This is a track that wasn’t included on any CD.

When it was released, it drew a huge response.

I think it’s a song that honestly expresses feelings that are hard to put into words.

Rather than cheering you up, it feels like a song that stays by your side.

This is a track included on the 5th album “Tanoshii ne” (“Isn’t It Fun?”).

Both the music video and the lyrics are a bit eerie.

The repeated chorus and the way the emotions overflow in the melody and vocal delivery during the “tantan to tan tan tan tan tan tan tan” part are very striking.

These songs are included on the 1st album “Everyone Die” and the best-of album “Best Kamatte-chan.” The versions on the best-of are remastered, giving them a different feel from the 1st album versions, which is interesting.

The lyrics are simple, but it’s a wonderful track that really draws you in.

The Sky of PerseusShinsei Kamattechan

This is a track included on the 5th album, “Tanoshiine.” The lyrics themselves aren’t that dark, but when combined with the music, it gives an impulsive feeling, like wanting to break free.

It’s a very emotional and cool song.

The sound design is intricate and really cool, too.

This is a coupling track from the 8th single, “Zutto.” The video released on YouTube uses the demo audio and is a self-made video clip by Noko.

It’s a perfect song for anyone who’s ever thought, “I just like being alone.” The slightly quirky video clip is also fun to watch.

This is their first single.

It was released in a limited run of 4,000 copies, and it’s a striking track with beautiful piano tones, blunt and extreme lyrics, and vocals that sound like shouting.

The “Sato, go die” mentioned in the song refers to a classmate of the vocalist, and apparently he has heard the song himself.
