Kankaku Piero’s iconic and popular songs

Kankaku Piero is a DIY band that doesn’t belong to any label or agency and even handles their own recording.

Their songs, which have the vibe of classic guitar rock, are highly memorable, but some tracks are full of humor as well.

Cool, funny, and danceable—this is the secret to their popularity.

Kankaku Piero’s Hit and Popular Songs (21–30)

LOVE GENERALKankaku Pierrot

A track included on the 1st full album “Shikishoku Hitoiro.” Written by drummer Nishio, who’s a fan of idols and Johnny’s, the song was crafted with that sound in mind.

It was made with the idea that it would be interesting to have Kanzen Kankaku Piero perform a song in that style.

It’s packed with playful elements like idol-like call-and-response and spoken lines.

Drummer Nishio says it turned out to be a straightforward love song.

Let’s get it a dancingKankaku Pierrot

“Let’s get it a dancing” kicks off with a math-rock-style guitar phrase.

The jazzy, stepwise bass line in the pre-chorus adds a mature allure, and the somewhat dark mood up to that point instantly transforms into a party scene in the chorus.

I can only marvel at the sheer tastefulness of the arrangement.

Tonight Yeah!Yeah!Yeah!Kankaku Pierrot

It’s a fast-paced, emotionally charged guitar rock track.

It’s included on the 2016 mini-album “Fukanou Kanouka” (Making the Impossible Possible).

The message—“Show your true self!”—is truly stirring.

It’s a song I want to listen to when I’m feeling anxious.

It seems that, while everyone except vocalist Yokoyama was working on their first full album, “Iroiro Hitoiro,” they came up with something that sounded Western, so they created this track with a consciously “very Western” feel.

They’ve said they listened to Western music back in their middle school days, so they were able to enjoy making this song.

According to vocalist Yokoyama, they’d made similar tracks before, but this one is a step up in rank.

Ulam spiralKankaku Pierrot

The intro guitar riff really sticks in your head.

It’s a refreshing, fast-paced guitar rock track.

There’s a section in the interlude where it switches to a waltz rhythm, which is very distinctive and quite addictive.

It’s a very easy listen, so I highly recommend it.

Goodbye, bye-byeKankaku Pierrot

This is a track included on the 2016 album “Hajimete no Hajimari.” It features a slightly tricky intro and guitar riff that highlight the chorus melody.

I recommend Kankaku Piero because their guitar riffs like this are really cool.

It’s included on “Sonnano Naiyo,” but since it’s already sold out, it’s difficult to get the recording.

Beyond the sharp sound, pay attention to the incisive Japanese lyrics that read like phrases packed from an erotic-grotesque novel.
