What kind of songs do you sing when you go to karaoke?

Among them, there are probably those who think, “I want to rap at karaoke!!”

FAKE LANDFAKE TYPE.

FAKE LANDFAKE TYPE.

A super distinctive rap that depicts a theme park where madness and pleasure swirl! If you can pull it off at karaoke, you’ll feel like the true ruler of entertainment.

It’s a 2021 release.

“FAKE LAND” is a song one of my students used to sing, and I was impressed, thinking, “Wow, their diction is so quick!” It really prioritizes rhythm and accent! It’s not pure rap—there are song-like parts too—so even if you’re not confident with rap, I think you can enjoy singing it all the way through.

Of course, I memorized it while teaching lessons as well, so listening repeatedly and singing along is key! If the fast lyrics make it hard to catch the words, I recommend slowing the playback speed on YouTube.

Alongside Awich, NENE, LANA, and MaRI, AI and YURIYAN RETRIEVER also join to complete the track.

With the theme of strong, independent womanhood, their mic relay showcases each artist’s individuality to stunning effect.

Released in July 2023, the song is also included on Awich’s album “The Union.” Their performance on the music show “Music Station” in October of the same year became a hot topic.

Suisei Hoshimachi’s “Bibideba” became a hot topic on YouTube in 2024 as an “insanely difficult rap” and a “top-tier challenge” song—have you heard of it? Some of my students actually tried it, and when I taught it, I felt that on a first pass it’s quite hard and the melody is tough to anticipate.

Beyond rhythm and pitch, it includes rapid-fire sections and rap parts—there are lots of elements packed in.

If you can master it, it’s a super fun and satisfying song to sing! In the chorus, many phrase endings switch to head voice, so lift your facial muscles and keep centering your pitch between the eyebrows, imagining the sound traveling from the brow up through the head as you transition to head voice.

Raising your hand toward your head while singing can make the visualization easier and help the voice come out more freely.

For the word-heavy sections, don’t try to articulate every syllable crisply; instead, let the words flow so they ride the melody as you sing.

In their early days, they self-produced their album creation and live performances, and in 2018 they held a concert at the Nippon Budokan—this is a hip-hop crew from Kawasaki representing Japan.

On this track, a dazzling mic relay unfolds over dark, trap-inspired production.

Each member raps with a distinct delivery, making a full recreation extremely challenging.

You can split the parts with friends, but if you manage to perform it solo from start to finish, be sure to brag about it online!

This track is marked by a four-on-the-floor, danceable beat.

Centered on themes of the multifaceted self and inner conflict that everyone faces, it deftly captures the emotions of people living in contemporary society.

Its intoxicating sound and interwoven rap layers create a distinct world that further enhances the fun of the piece.

Featured on the album “LEGION,” it was written in January 2025 as the theme song for the film “Under Ninja.” Nail the speedy rap sections packed with tight rhymes at karaoke, and it’s guaranteed to bring the house down.

A signature song that could be called the origin of FAKE TYPE., where electroswing collides with ultra-fast rap! If you can nail it at karaoke, you’ll definitely earn the title of Tongue-Twister Monster! There’s no official tie-in, but it went viral on YouTube and Nico Nico Douga, boosting its popularity.

It fuses retro and modern elements, creating a unique world where a swing-jazz-style track is layered with ultra-speed rap and humor.

When singing, you’ll be tested on breath control for the nonstop fast rap, enunciation, sense of rhythm, and lyric memorization.

It’s packed with an enormous number of words, so focus on accents to keep your mouth moving smoothly!

Characterized by its emotional trap beat, this track has drawn attention as a song that symbolizes BAD HOP’s breakup.

Centered on the theme of a last party with childhood friends, the lyrics are infused with the members’ memories and friendship, celebrating the importance of forgetting the everyday and enjoying the present.

Included on their final album “BAD HOP,” released on February 9, 2024, the track was accompanied by a music video released the same day.

It’s recommended for those who want to try Japanese rap at karaoke or cherish special moments with their crew.
