Please keep smiling.kariyushi 58

It’s a reggae-style track that closes out the fourth album, “5.” The lyrics are probably about heartbreak, but the way it tries to keep things bright is painfully bittersweet.
It makes you want to listen on a summer afternoon with an iced coffee in hand.
Voice Jet Plane: Keiko Utokukariyushi 58

Introducing “The Jet Voice,” a song that’s both fun and moving.
It’s a collaboration between singer-songwriter Keiko Utoku and Shingo Maekawa.
The first half, handled by Shingo Maekawa, has a lively feel, the middle showcases Keiko Utoku’s gentle, soulful vocals, and the finale brings the two together in harmony to sing of hope for the future.
The music video, created in collaboration with a picture-book essay, is also touching—highly recommended to watch alongside the song.

Things that cannot be put into words, times when words aren’t neededkariyushi 58

It’s a song about male friendship.
It reflects on memories with good friends who understand each other without needing words.
The memories recounted are bittersweet, but the melody is light, and it’s nice that it ends with playful lyrics about their current friendship.
I think it’s an ideal song for men to give to their male friends at farewell parties and similar occasions.
Anmaa ~ Mother’s Song ~kariyushi 58

Set to a light, upbeat melody, this song sings a message to “anmaa” (Okinawan dialect for mother).
For those who feel shy about expressing gratitude to their mom, we recommend this bright and warm Okinawan song full of kindness.
Shiozakikariyushi 58

This is a song that colors the latter part of the fifth album, “8.” Shiozaki, which is also in the title, is the name of a port town in Itoman City, Okinawa.
The song resonates with people who have moved to the city but still long for their hometown.
Feelings for one’s birthplace are often sung about, but this one is special because it evokes the sea of Okinawa.
Oh! Todaykariyushi 58

This song is the second track on the sixth album, “Daikinboshi” (“Major Triumph”).
Having big goals in life is wonderful, but the determination to make today the best it can be is just as important.
Listen to this when you wake up and start your day with a fresh mindset!

This song, which opens with a slightly oriental-feeling guitar riff, was written in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, inspired by an email from a friend who was forced to flee Namie, Fukushima.
Personally, the vocals right before the chorus move me deeply.
Also, pay attention to the unison between the bass and guitar in the interlude!
