From beautiful piano rock to intense loud rock! Bands with cool keyboards and synths.
Keyboards and synthesizers—ranging from piano rock to synth-pop and techno-pop—can be incorporated regardless of whether the band is a traditional rock outfit.
Adding them to guitar, bass, and drums instantly broadens a song’s expressive range! Many of you probably love tracks that feature keyboards, but it can be surprisingly hard to think of bands that actually have a keyboardist, right? So in this article, we’ll introduce plenty of bands with cool keyboard work.
Some play with piano sounds, others with distinctive synth tones—each band is different—so be sure to check out the songs from the bands we’re about to feature.

PikoPolysics

POLYSICS is a band that’s gradually gaining popularity as a new wave act that blends synthesizers and guitar sounds.
Their name comes from KORG’s POLYSIX synth, and they’re also well-regarded for their skillful use of synthesizers.
Their live performances are quite eccentric, making them perfect for cover bands looking to fire up a crowd.
I Hate DISCOOOOOOO!!!the telephones

the telephones became popular as a band with a new musical style that fused rock, new wave, disco, and electronica.
Their distinctive use of keyboards and synthesizers created an appealing sound unlike other bands.
Unfortunately, they went on an indefinite hiatus at the end of 2015, but they resumed activities in May 2018 and drew renewed attention.
YUMEGIWA LAST BOYSUPERCAR

As a band that debuted in 1997 alongside Number Girl and Quruli, SUPERCAR helped forge a new generation.
At the time of their debut, they focused on guitar-driven sounds influenced by US alternative and UK rock, but gradually shifted toward a more electronic direction, with increasingly compelling use of keyboards.
Although they disbanded in 2005, their songs continue to be loved.
budLACCO TOWER

If you like intense rock bands, I recommend LACCO TOWER.
They’re a group with strong attention to detail—from song titles and musicality to the band’s overall concept—and once you get drawn into their world, there’s no getting out.
When you listen, pay attention to the beautiful piano that contrasts with the heavy guitar sound.
No WayCzecho No Republic

Czecho No Republic is a rock band formed in March 2010, known for their effective use of synthesizers and keyboards.
Their songs often feature rhythms that are refreshing yet passionate and make you want to move, which quickly grew their fanbase.
After making their major-label debut, they also gained attention through tie-ins such as with the Dragon Ball TV anime series.

808Suchmos

Suchmos is a leading neo-city pop band that skyrocketed to fame after their song was used in a commercial for Honda’s “VEZEL.” Their music is stylish yet rich in depth.
The vocalist, YONCE, has a wonderfully sultry voice.
On keyboards is TAIHEI, who reportedly studied Electone (electronic organ) from a young age.
Someday’s BoyTRY TRY NIICHE

These days, piano-driven rock bands are becoming fewer and fewer, and many people might be feeling a bit lonely about that.
For you, I recommend a band called TRY TRY NIICHE.
Their beautiful piano phrases and clear, airy vocals blend with rugged, driving guitars, and they’re gaining popularity as a piano rock band that’s both classic and uniquely original.
