KEYTALK's classic and popular songs

Let me introduce some songs by KEYTALK, a band known for their fun tracks often described as four-on-the-floor rock.

While many of their songs are catchy and poppy with a four-on-the-floor beat as the foundation, their background surprisingly includes jazz and classical influences.

Teranaka (vo./gt.) has experience in wind ensemble, and Ono (gt.) has a background in classical guitar.

What’s more, the band name KEYTALK is said to come from “Keytalk,” a piece by Hiromi Uehara, one of Japan’s leading jazz pianists.

If you listen with that unexpected background in mind, you might hear their music in a whole new way.

Nowadays, most songs come with choreography, but you could say this is the song that kicked it all off.

Since Ono, our guitarist who’s a big Momoiro Clover Z fan, came up with the moves, the chorus features choreography familiar from Momoclo.

It’s a track that always brings the crowd to a fever pitch at live shows.

MURASAKIKEYTALK

A classic, fast-paced guitar rock track with effected vocals.

While the vocals give a detached, matter-of-fact impression, the addictive lead guitar sticks in the listener’s memory after just one listen—an absolute favorite among KEYTALK fans.

UNITYKEYTALK

A highly energetic, upbeat track where a lead guitar using a mysterious scale glides over a rhythm guitar that ticks along with metronomic precision.

The relentlessly delivered melody throughout the song further accelerates that momentum, which is great.

night focusKEYTALK

A pleasant-sounding song where lyrics depicting a lovers’ breakup ride a refreshing yet bittersweet melody.

The lyrics and melody match so well that the two lovers in the song vividly come to mind as you listen.

The guitar solo features an unusual rhythmic development, neatly incorporating the kind of accents characteristic of KEYTALK.

This is a great track where guitarist Takemasa, known for his comical performances, plays around with stylish phrases and sounds, creating a delightful contrast.

The song has a cute, danceable feel reminiscent of early KEYTALK.

The individual solos from each member are also a highlight.

This track is highly memorable, with pounding drums, siren-like guitars, and a chorus melody that somehow evokes the Showa era.

While maintaining a relentless sense of speed throughout, the retro off-beat riff and kayōkyoku-style lead guitar that swirls in the outro are downright addictive.

AgainKEYTALK

A song distinguished by its festival-like drum rhythm and lead guitar sound in the intro.

From the quiet A section, where the wistful vocals stand out, the chorus gradually builds in emotion, making it especially captivating.

The not-too-fast tempo also adds to its comfortable feel.
