Origami Morning Glory

Try making a morning glory with origami! Fold the paper into a triangle twice, then open the pocket and flatten it into a square.
With the closed corner facing you, fold both sides toward the center line, open the pocket, and fold the top triangular part downward.
Open it once, then fold along the creases in sequence as if layering them, and gently spread it out so it doesn’t tear—your morning glory with a beautiful inner pattern is complete! Display it together with origami leaves and vine parts made by folding origami into narrow strips and curling them using items like disposable chopsticks.
Hanging morning glory ornament

If you make lots of origami morning glories and hang them, you’ll have a cool, summery hanging decoration! Place the reverse side of the origami paper facing up, fold it into a triangle twice, then open the pocket and fold it into a square.
With the closed corner facing you, fold both sides toward the center line.
Open the pocket, fold the remaining triangular flap at the top downward, and begin to open the whole piece.
Continue folding along the creases to shape it into a morning glory, and your origami morning glory is complete! Make leaves and vines out of origami or construction paper as well, and connect all the parts by color to create your decoration.
Collage of morning glories

This is a collage craft of morning glories finished by attaching pieces to a paper plate! First, cut tissue paper into the shapes of morning glory flowers and leaves.
Next, spread glue over the entire paper plate and arrange the prepared flowers and leaves.
Then brush more glue over the top to adhere them firmly to the plate.
Punch a hole at the edge of the plate and thread a pipe cleaner or ribbon through it to hang—your collage is complete! You can also lightly sketch the morning glories on the plate first and stick on torn tissue paper or origami to give it a torn-paper look; that would make a lovely piece as well.

Morning Glories Drawn with a Water-Based Pen

Let’s make beautiful, softly colored morning glories using washi paper and water-based markers! Fold a square-cut sheet of washi paper and cut it with scissors into the shape of a morning glory.
While it’s still folded, leave some pointed sections and add color with water-based markers.
Blend the colored areas with a water-loaded brush, then dry with a hair dryer.
Gently open it, and your morning glory with lovely patterns is complete! When coloring, change the hues for the inner, middle, and outer areas to create a beautiful gradient.
The unexpected blending of colors is sure to delight the children.
In conclusion
How did you like the morning glory craft ideas? They were all cute and had a refreshing feel, didn’t they? If you’re making a wall decoration, be sure to create some vines and leaves along with the morning glories.
For the bleeding artwork, there are various ways to dye using paints or water-based pens, so have fun experimenting.
