Child(ren) of the EarthKeroponzu

Here’s a song by Keropons that kids can enjoy together.

Created in collaboration with the National Federation of Private Nursery Schools, this piece features a bright, energetic, and cheerful sound.

The lyrics sing about the importance of children connecting with the Earth and nature, conveying the idea that play leads to learning and fostering a spirit of challenge.

Released in 2023, the song has been adopted by childcare facilities nationwide as the theme song for the childcare movement “A New Era Begins with Children.” There’s choreography as well, so it’s recommended to sing while dancing.

Through fun activities, this wonderful song helps convey appreciation for nature and the importance of living together in harmony.

aye-ayeSakushi: Aida Hiromi / Sakkyoku: Uno Seiichirou

Ai Ai is a song about a little monkey, a character that often appears in children’s favorite picture books.

Lyricist Hiromi Aida wrote the lyrics after being asked to create a cute animal song and coming across the aye-aye, which lives on Madagascar, in an illustrated encyclopedia.

It’s perfect not only as a choral piece but also for school plays where a monkey character appears! To help children enjoy singing it even more with choreography, it might be nice to show them photos or illustrations and say, “This is the kind of monkey the song is about.”

Song of the Year-Roundgaikokukyoku

Song of the Year-Roundgaikokukyoku

Feel the changing seasons through song with “A Song for the Whole Year”! It starts with New Year’s in January and includes many memorable events for children, such as Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival) in March, Koinobori (carp streamers) in May, summer vacation in August, and Christmas in December.

It might help kids connect months with events—like saying, “It’s May, so the carp streamers are swimming!” When sung as a round, it creates a curious sensation of overlapping seasons.

The lyrics are packed and easy to get carried away, but try singing it while enjoying the transitions of all twelve months!

Green GreenSuginami Jidō Gasshōdan

For some reason I don’t understand, the phenomenon of elementary school boys nationwide each making their own parody of “Green Green” at least once is still ongoing.

It’s such a masterpiece that it captivates children and won’t let go.

It even includes expressions about death, making it a wonderful song that allows children to be educated about death without being frightened.
