Monday Kiz, a powerhouse Korean vocal unit, has released a gem of a ballad where sorrow and beauty harmonize.

Since their formation in 2005, they’ve been known for numerous classic albums like El Condor Pasa and Inside Story, and here they sing of the transience of love that has passed.

Lee Jin-sung’s clear, transparent vocals blend with elegant piano and string arrangements to create a deeply moving piece.

This song is recommended for those who wish to empathize with the end of a romance or lingering feelings, and for anyone seeking to soothe the emotions hidden deep in their heart.

Park Jae-jung, who became a breakout star in South Korea after the 2023 smash hit “Let’s Say Goodbye,” released this pre-enlistment single on May 9, 2024.

It portrays the feelings of regret that well up even while living happily after a breakup.

The music video features Jae-jung himself and Loossemble’s Hyunjin, enhancing the song’s poignant atmosphere.

This love ballad draws you in with the contrast between the mellow verses, colored by his calm, sweet low register, and a chorus where the emotions burst forth.

Huh Gak, one of South Korea’s leading ballad singers known for his emotionally expressive vocals, released a remake of a classic in October 2024.

The original song, sung by Cho Sung-mo in 1998, is a piece Huh Gak had admired since childhood.

It’s a moving ballad themed around deep love and the sorrow of parting.

His gentle voice feels like it’s singing, “I’m always on your side,” embracing you with warmth.

The performance conveys the feelings and sense of loss after losing a loved one, and expresses the longing to meet again.

A track that blends poignancy with warmth.

A ballad released in September 2024 by Yang Yoseop, the main vocalist of the popular Korean group Highlight.

It sings of a love so deep that the presence of the beloved feels “more natural than breathing.” With an emotionally rich vocal performance that resonates at heart, this work was produced as part of NHN BUGS’ “Cliché Project.” The tender yet soothing vocals convey a romance perfectly suited to the autumn season.

It’s a song you’ll want to listen to on a quiet night, taking your time.

Filled with the fragility and beauty of love, it will remind you of the precious moments spent with someone special.

I Think I DidYoo Hwe Seung

A heartrending ballad performed by Yoo Hwe-seung from South Korea.

Released in May 2024 as part of the OST for the drama “Lovely Runner.” While he is the lead vocalist of N.Flying, Yoo Hwe-seung is also active as a solo artist and musical theater actor.

This piece opens with scenes of nights spent with friends and goes on to sing of the aching feelings for someone special—sure to strike a chord.

It deftly conveys the frustration and inner conflict born of love.

The scene where he musters the courage to confess his feelings is especially memorable.

You’ll find yourself drawn in by the melody, as if it synchronizes with the movements of the heart.

A song we’d love to deliver to anyone struggling with love.

Why did I end up falling in love with you?Tōhōshinki

This song, which could be called one of TVXQ’s signature tracks, is a heartrending love ballad.

I think even people who aren’t interested in K-pop have probably heard it at least once.

The lyrics, depicting a man and woman drifting past each other, are truly heart-wrenching.

When it comes to a tear-jerking love ballad from a male perspective, this is the one that comes to mind.

너만 괜찮다면남우현(Nam Woo Hyun)

It’s a solo song by Nam Woo-hyun, a member of INFINITE.

The title “너만 괜찮다면 (Neoman Gwaenchantamyeon)” is also an important phrase in the chorus and means “If only you’re okay with it.” Haven’t you ever had a youthful romance where, because of your immaturity, you couldn’t really consider the other person and things fell apart? There are things you only come to understand as you gain experience and grow, but by then it’s too late.

It’s a sad song about a relationship that once was truly loving but stopped going well, wishing, “If only we could go back to the past,” and “If only you’re okay with it.”
