[Solo Singer Special] K-POP & Korean Male Solo Artists (41–50)
깨워 (Who U Are)KANGDANIEL(강다니엘)

Kang Daniel, who debuted as a member of the legendary boy group Wanna One formed through PRODUCE 101 Season 2.
His birth name was Kang Eui-geon, but he changed it because it was often misread.
In 2019, he made his solo debut with the album “color on me.” He’s a cat lover and widely praised as a polite, well-mannered person.
He’s also known for having many nicknames, such as “God Daniel” and “Kanda.” Kang Daniel has a wonderful dual charm: a fresh vibe rooted in R&B as well as a cool, contrasting aura.
Often called “Nyeolchin,” he exudes an irresistible, subtle sexiness, and the adorable contrast of his bright smile is enough to make anyone swoon!
SugarKIM WOO SEOK (gimu useoku / kimu usoku)

Kim Wooseok, a member of the boy group UP10TION.
He originally wanted to become a barista, but with a scouting offer and support from his parents, he decided to pursue an idol career.
In 2019, he appeared on the audition show PRODUCE X 101, placed second, and became a member of X1.
He made his solo debut in May 2020 with 1st DESIRE [GREED].
Involved in songwriting and composing, he highlights each track’s allure with sexy charm, and his sweet, beautifully lingering high notes are phenomenal—an exquisite comfort.
It’s exciting to think we’ll get to discover even more of Wooseok’s charms through his solo activities and beyond.
Also, keep an eye on how he resembles Dokin-chan, a character from Anpanman!
RewindZHOUMI

This is Zhou Mi, the Chinese member of SUPER JUNIOR-M.
He has very long limbs and an outstanding figure.
On variety shows, he says his special skill is being able to sing any song with a smile.
Because he’s always smiling and his movements are cute, Japanese fans sometimes call him “Miimi-nee-san.”
Love You MoreJejun

He is a male singer from South Korea who was active as a member of TVXQ from his debut in 2003 until 2010, and has been active as a member of JYJ since then.
Since 2017, he has been based in Japan as a solo artist.
He is popular with people of all ages, and his concert audience ranges from fans in their 20s to their 50s.
Musically, he appears capable of singing a wide range of styles, from club-like vibes to rock.
Nobody But you최시원 (SIWON)

Siwon, a member of Super Junior, the entertainer group Korea is proud of.
With his instantly recognizable handsomeness and masculine style, he takes center stage and perfectly matches the group’s stylish image.
He began his acting career with the drama “Precious Family” and has been active as an actor as well.
A devout Christian and a chaebol heir, he’s also highly global, fluent in English and Chinese—but above all, it’s his character that draws people in.
On stage, he’s modest yet charming and funny, and his gentlemanly attitude toward fans is truly wonderful.
Be sure to enjoy his gentle, enveloping vocals, too.
I also recommend the OST “Nobody But You” from “Work Later, Drink Now.”
CandySamuel

This is a song by Samuel, born in Los Angeles to a Spanish American and Korean family in 2002.
He was overflowing with talent from a young age, even debuting at 13 as part of the duo 1PUNCH.
He’s also set to debut in Japan in 2018, so we’re looking forward to seeing him succeed there as well.
The Little PrinceRYEOWOOK

This is a solo song by Ryeowook, one of the three main vocalists of SUPER JUNIOR, known for the charm of his emotionally expressive singing.
Ryeowook is very good at cooking and has even been called SUPER JUNIOR’s ‘omma’—their mom.
What You LikeLEE GIKWANG

This is a solo song by Gikwang, a member of Highlight (formerly BEAST).
Before debuting as part of BEAST, he also debuted as a solo singer under the name AJ, showcasing his talent.
In addition to his activities as a singer, he has appeared in numerous dramas.
Drowning Feat SOLEBOBBY

Bobby debuted as a member of iKON, inheriting the lineage of BIGBANG, and has drawn attention for rap skills so strong they transcend the very concept of an idol.
He even won the popular rap survival show “SHOW ME THE MONEY 3” before his debut! He made his solo debut in 2017 with the album “LOVE AND FALL,” and in 2023 he held his first solo tour in Japan.
As the group’s mood-maker, his songs are instantly catchy with melodies that are easy to get into.
Even those who don’t usually listen to hip-hop may find themselves drawn in.
His husky, cool singing voice and fluid rap are captivating!
김희철 ‘옛날 사람 (Old Movie)KIM HEECHUL

When it comes to SUPER JUNIOR, I think many people in Korea picture Heechul, Leeteuk, and Siwon.
That’s because Heechul and Leeteuk are hugely active on variety shows—cool yet funny, entertaining big brothers who can always get laughs.
Siwon, meanwhile, is active as an actor.
Although Heechul usually has a playful image, his 2019 solo release is actually an adult contemporary love ballad.
It tells a poignant story: he can’t forget the girlfriend he broke up with, but she has already moved on from the heartbreak.
He sings it tenderly, yet in the music video you can still enjoy his variety-star side, with scenes of Heechul relaxing in a tracksuit.
