Recommended K-POP for the morning: Korean wake-up songs (21–30)
Morning SunTōhōshinki

A pop track included on the 2018 release NEW CHAPTER #2: THE TRUTH OF LOVE.
It sings about the fluttery feelings of being with someone you love, and the gentle melody is incredibly comforting.
Waking up wrapped in Changmin and Yunho’s refreshing, soft vocals is absolutely wonderful.
CandyNCT DREAM

NCT is a boys’ idol group formed in 2016.
Their sub-unit NCT DREAM’s “Candy” is an irresistibly bright pop tune.
It’s built on programmed dance sounds, with charming, cute-sounding synthesizers layered on top—an especially striking feature.
Add the members’ boyish, adorable vocals, and it feels like the sweetest way to wake up! Also, be sure to pay attention to the masculine rap section in the middle and the beautifully feminine-sounding harmony parts.

Rush Hour (Feat. j-hope of BTS)Crush

Crush, an R&B singer who debuted in 2012 with “Red Dress.” His “Rush Hour (Feat.
j-hope of BTS)” is a perfect pick for anyone looking for an R&B/hip-hop-style wake-up song! A key highlight is that it features J-HOPE, the rapper from the seven-member idol group BTS.
The back-and-forth between Crush and J-HOPE’s rap is sure to lift that heavy morning mood!
We Goaespa

A refreshing number whose powerful guitar sound gives your morning wake-up a boost! It’s the opening theme for the new chapter of the anime “Pokémon,” “Liko and Roy’s Departure,” produced by the girl group aespa in August 2023.
The passionate vocals of the four members, who are among today’s leading artists, together with the up-tempo sound, make it perfect for starting the day.
The harmonies woven by Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning are packed with so much energy that you’ll want to move your body.
This track wraps you in the exhilaration of setting off on an adventure with the protagonists, brightening the start of your day with boundless vitality.
바람 불어 좋은 날Vodka Rain

Vodka Rain is an indie band formed in 2005.
Their song “One Fine Windy Day (바람 불어 좋은 날)” is captivating for its refreshing acoustic guitar tones that feel like a gentle breeze drifting in through the window.
Waking up to an upbeat dance tune is great, but on mornings when you want to take it slow, a mid-tempo track like this seems to fit better, doesn’t it? It’s perfect as a wake-up song, and I highly recommend it as background music for sleepless nights, too!
MORNINGMAMAMOO

MAMAMOO’s uniquely expressive vocals and four-part harmonies are irresistible.
In “MORNING,” Hwasa’s gently subdued opening vocals seem to capture the languid mood of morning, and the song unfolds beautifully, mirroring the gradual process of waking up.
Personally, I think Moonbyul’s warm voice is the best—it quietly stays by your side when you want to start the day gently.
The track is included on their nostalgic 2018 album BLUE;S.
ColorsIZ*ONE

That dazzling intro really gets your heart racing.
It’s the standout track that opens their debut mini album, COLOR*IZ.
A refreshing number packed with IZ*ONE’s clarity and adorable charm.
The worldview that begins here and the message to WIZ*ONE are wonderful, and listening now almost brings me to tears.
The colors that evoke the 12 members’ individuality and infinite potential match the start of the morning, and if you set it as your alarm, you’ll feel like something good is sure to happen!
