Tsugaru shamisen player
Koguma Noriaki
Oguma Kansho (Oguma Kansho). Born in Uozu City, Toyama Prefecture; resides in Himi City. Currently runs Tsugaru shamisen and minyo (folk) shamisen classes in Takaoka, Toyama, and Himi.1989: Entered the Kagayama school of minyo; began studying minyo shamisen and Tsugaru shamisen.1992: Received the name “Kagayama Shigeyoshi” within the Kagayama school.2002: On his then-teacher’s introduction, became a student of Kida Kanshoh Teru of the Kida school of Tsugaru shamisen, beginning full-fledged study of Tsugaru shamisen.2005: Entered the 3rd Machikado Performance Audition in Toyama City as a duo with a colleague; won the Grand Prize.2007: Through a local traditional-instrument shop, was introduced to and began studying under Yonetani Iwakuh of the Yonetani school of shakuhachi.2007: Tsugaru Shamisen All-Japan Kanagi Tournament: Individual Class B, Tsugaru Jongara-bushi (medium section), awarded the Kazuo Oe Prize (5th place).2007: National Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Osaka Tournament: 4th place in the Senior Division.2009: Received the Yonetani school shakuhachi name “Yonetani Ihisaaki.”2009: Received the Tsugaru Shamisen Kida school Kanshoei branch name “Oguma Kansho.”2009: All-Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Nagoya Tournament: 5th place in the Senior Division.2009: National Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Osaka Tournament: 5th place in the Senior Division.2010: 2010 Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament (Hirosaki): 7th place in the Senior Division.2010: National Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Osaka Tournament: Runner-up in the Senior Division.2011: 2011 Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament (Hirosaki): 5th place in the Senior Division.2011: All-Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Nagoya Tournament: 4th place in the Senior Division.2011: National Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Osaka Tournament: Runner-up in the Senior Division.2012: 2012 Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament (Hirosaki): 6th place in the Senior Division.2012: Tsugaru Shamisen All-Japan Kanagi Tournament: Individual Class B, Tsugaru Yosare-bushi, Special Jury Prize (9th place).2012: All-Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Nagoya Tournament: 3rd place in the Senior Division.2012: Began attending shakuhachi classes in Toyama taught by master Tetsu Kujiraoka.2012: Passed the Yonetani school shakuhachi Associate Instructor promotion exam.2013: 2013 Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament (Hirosaki): 4th place in the Senior Division.2013: All-Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Competition Nagoya Tournament: 3rd place in the Senior Division.2013: Received the Sato Matsuko school minyo instructor name “Sato Matsuhiroaki.”2013: Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament in Kobe: 3rd place in the Senior Division.2014: 2014 Tsugaru Shamisen World Tournament (Hirosaki): Champion in the Middle Class.BLOG:
