Karaoke-friendly songs recommended for men of the Yutori Generation (21–30)

I love youMotoki

Motoki – I Love You (Music Video)
I love youMotoki

Not only as a songwriter and composer, but also as a multi-talented creator in illustration and video production, Motoki showcases his abilities.

The digital single “I Love You,” released in May 2025, is a superb track where the bittersweet, emotional guitar sound, Motoki’s clear vocals, and lyrics that portray aching feelings come together perfectly.

It’s recommended not only for fans of singer-songwriters, but also for those who enjoy so-called Japanese rock.

The melody unfolds straightforwardly and it’s easy to sing at karaoke, so definitely give it a try!

“The 25th Chromosome,” released in November 2005, is the single that marked RADWIMPS’ memorable major-label debut.

The songs performed by the members, who had just turned 20 at the time, are strikingly youthful and vulnerable, and you can already sense the budding presence of Western musical influences in the production.

The fast-paced melody packed with Noda’s distinctive wordplay also feels quintessentially “them,” but fans of the band are likely accustomed to this kind of phrasing and shouldn’t find it difficult to sing at karaoke.

While the pitch sits slightly on the higher side, it stays within a consistent range, so if you’re not comfortable with high notes, adjusting the key should make it perfectly manageable.

slowBerumaintsu

Formed in 2018, Berumaintsu is a pop trio that wields twin vocals by two singer-songwriters as their signature.

Their songs, born from melodies and production that feel nostalgic yet resist fleeting trends, make for great karaoke picks across generations.

Released in May 2025, “Slow” is another standout track, featuring a soothing yet slightly wistful melody and harmony, along with carefully crafted Japanese lyrics that make it easy and enjoyable to sing at karaoke for listeners of all ages.

Offshore / Toward the open seaorisaka yuta

Singer-songwriter Yuta Orisaka, whose otherworldly folk music has earned high praise from hardcore music aficionados.

Among his songs, “Oki no Hō e” is one I especially recommend.

While the piece spans a wide vocal range and features some abrupt pitch shifts, it doesn’t demand rapid-fire rises and falls in the melody.

So if you have a reasonably broad range, you’ll likely find it fairly manageable to sing.

Men with a steady mid-to-high register should definitely consider adding it to their repertoire.

BEATWurtS

BEATWurtS

The artist WurtS has released many classic tracks with a style that incorporates a wide range of musical influences.

Lately, he’s gained popularity through collaborations with other artists, but now he’s dropped a solo hit: “BEAT.” It’s a highly alternative piece, built predominantly around the midrange throughout.

There’s a fair amount of low-mid content as well, making it an ideal song to showcase the rich midrange that only singers with lower vocal registers can achieve.

spring hazeneko wa ekitai

Cats Are Liquid – Spring Haze (Official Music Video)

A four-piece rock band from Kyoto, Neko wa Ekitai.

Centered around orthodox Japanese rock, their work has been drawing attention in the scene.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend for men with low voices is Harugasumi.

Although the vocalist doesn’t have a particularly low voice—so it’s easy to overlook—this track is composed mostly in the mid-to-low range.

If you adjust the key, it can fully showcase the richness and warmth of a deep male voice.

Consider adding it to your repertoire.

Shota Araya is a singer-songwriter whose originality-rich musical style—mixing Black music with contemporary J-POP—has earned him widespread popularity.

While he drew attention as the former vocalist of a popular band, his activities have prioritized music over popularity, and he has produced several notable songs.

Among his tracks, the one I especially recommend for men with lower voices is Peanut Butter.

Although it has an R&B vibe, the vocal line is fairly steady and understated, and the song is arranged throughout in the low to low-mid range.
