mineo Quiz Show: Spring mineo Discount / Packet Unlimited Plus / MyPita 30 GB Plan

This commercial showcases the many appeals of mineo through footage reminiscent of old quiz shows.

It clearly explains, via narration, how mineo offers a variety of plans tailored to users and makes smartphones easier to use.

It’s also fun to see what kind of wrong answers and reactions pop up, and the visuals and speaking style create a retro vibe, making for a comical piece.

mineo “So you’ll want to recommend it. Macaron” version

It’s the Mineo web commercial titled “That’s Why You Want to Recommend It: Macaron,” which makes you wonder, “Why a macaron?” A macaron—apparently personifying the points that make you want to recommend it—talks while holding a smartphone in an all-white room.

This CM compiles three short 6-second videos: “Mr.

Macaron: 410 Yen,” “Mr.

Macaron: Keep Your Device,” and “Mr.

Macaron: Share It.” So the character’s name was Mr.

Macaron.

And now I can’t help but be curious about how Mr.

Macaron’s body works (lol).

mineo ‘So You’ll Want to Recommend It. Shogi’ Version

This is the web commercial for the budget smartphone service mineo, titled “That’s Why You’ll Want to Recommend It: Shogi.” In the video, a person wearing a costume of a shogi piece, for some reason, talks about the benefits of mineo.

This video stitches together three very short original clips: “Mr.

Shogi: 410 Yen,” “Mr.

Shogi: Keep Your Device,” and “Mr.

Shogi: Share Data.” Even combined, it’s short and easy to watch, and because it’s simple and straightforward, the message comes across clearly—making it an easy-to-understand commercial.

mineo “Everyone’s Smartphone” versionWakana Aoi

mineo CM 'Everyone’s Smartphone' Version 15 Seconds Aoi Wakana

This commercial highlights mineo’s biggest appeal: everyone can keep using their smartphones just the way they’re used to, but for less.

In the story, Wakana Aoi casts magic on people’s phones, and the expressions of those under the spell convey the shockingly low price.

Since those surprised expressions include smiles, the sense of joy is clearly depicted as well.

mineo Karaoke “Attack No. 1” Version

mineo Karaoke 'Attack No. 1' Version (Full ver.)

This commercial, which aired in 2019, is a parody piece using footage from the anime “Attack No.

1.” It even features a rewritten version of the theme song as the BGM, with lyrics that highlight the plan’s appeal.

It’s a memorable commercial that catches the eye not only of those familiar with the original work but also of younger viewers who aren’t.

mineo ‘Carving’ Version

mineo Carving Edition

It features carving letters and patterns into the surface of vegetables, revealing the decorated word “mineo.” The biggest point is that there are no unnecessary announcements; it conveys the desire for people to first remember the name and then look into it themselves.

The only sound used is the word “mineo,” which strongly communicates the intent to emphasize the name above all else.

mineo “Sticker” version

mineo Sticker Edition

This commercial conveys the value and joy of mineo through a scenario where stickers are continuously applied in a factory.

The stickers being placed on the smartphones moving along the line boldly display mineo’s pricing, and the way they’re stuck right in the middle of the screen adds a comedic touch while also expressing confidence in the low cost.

It’s also striking that the person applying the stickers is beaming with a full-on smile, which further hints at the users’ delight.
