The lead track included on the album released in 2005.

Despite being just over five minutes long, it conveys an epic sense of scale through both its lyrics and arrangement.

It’s such a masterpiece that guitarist-vocalist Mr.

Sakurai has cited it as the work he’s most confident in on the album.

ResuscitationMr.Children

At concerts, it was a staple song that, up through the “Mr.Children HOME TOUR 2007,” was always performed without fail together with “overture.” In the tour concerts after the earthquake, it was moved to replace the original first song on the set list, and “Sosei” was performed.

It is also used as the walk-up song for Ginji of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.

Bird CageMr.Children

This song likens a couple whose relationship isn’t going smoothly to a pair of birds.

With distant, echoing sound effects and strings, the intro gives the sense of wandering into another world.

Another feature of the track is the unexpectedly intense drumming.

In an interview at the time, Sakurai described it as “a song where the guitar has a pleasing kind of murkiness and the rhythm track feels really good—it gives off a strong band vibe.”

Because it was released just before the sudden announcement of their hiatus, it drew a lot of attention.

You can feel Sakurai’s many feelings coming through in this song.

It makes you think that rather than just charging ahead recklessly, it’s important in life to pause and take time to consider what truly matters and what you want to protect.

This is a song created in hopes of supporting recovery from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

Set to a slow melody, the lyrics—mostly written in hiragana—convey a gentle, embracing warmth.

For those whose everyday lives were taken by the disaster and who cannot yet see the light ahead, this song may itself feel like that very “light.” The fact that its proceeds are donated as relief funds also reflects their strong commitment to the region’s recovery.

This song was produced as the theme for the 2022 film Kingdom II: To the Land of Faraway.

It was released in the milestone year marking Mr.Children’s 30th anniversary.

It’s like an anthem for life that gives you a push, telling you, “Even when things are tough, don’t lose hope—believe in yourself and keep living!” The powerful sound, which fuses piano with a grand orchestra, conveys the band’s strong will and determination.

The music video is also structured to express a strong will to live through the band’s music, so be sure to watch it when you’re facing difficulties or need to fire yourself up.

It was selected as the theme song for the NTT DoCoMo FOMA 900i series commercials.
