Wakka FestThursday, 3/26, Ishikawa Prefecture

This is an event hosted by AAB Akita Asahi Broadcasting, a television station in Akita Prefecture. To promote regional revitalization and share the appeal of Akita’s traditional festivals and customs, performances will be given by artists connected to Akita and by artists who support the initiative. There will even be a free online stream, so those who can’t attend in person can still make it in time! The stream will also feature the Akita Kanto Festival and the Nishimonai Bon Odori, so if you haven’t seen them before, be sure to check it out.

BIG APPLE in NONOICHISun, Nov 23 — Ishikawa Prefecture

It began in 1995 after the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, an amateur big band that started full-scale activities in Nonoichi City in 1980, performed at a jazz festival in the United States. The event title “BIG APPLE” is a nickname for New York and was chosen to signify a place where the world’s top musicians gather.
