How strange…ZARD

Included on the 1991 album “Mou Sagasanai” (“I Won’t Search Anymore”).
A music unit centered around vocalist Izumi Sakai, who debuted in 1991.
The music video for this song was directed by Shunji Iwai, known for the films “Love Letter” and “Swallowtail.” The melody has that signature ZARD feel—easy to listen to and very nice.
Love MysteryKaientai

A single released in 1981.
They’re a three-member folk group that debuted in 1972.
The group was named by Tetsuya Takeda, well known for his love of Ryoma Sakamoto.
The slow tempo rhythm pairs well with the acoustic guitar and harmonica, and listening to Tetsuya Takeda’s subdued vocals over that backdrop draws you in with a quiet poignancy.
WONDER LOVEMiyano Mamoru

Included on the 2010 album “WONDER.” Born in 1983.
A voice actor and singer from Saitama Prefecture.
The extremely pop, danceable melodic lines and the uptempo, breezy R&B rhythm production are in full force, matching the sweet vocals very well, which I think is great.
A masterpiece that sings of wonder. Recommended popular songs (11–20)
Wonder TouchAira Mitsuki

Included on the 2010 mini-album “6 FORCE.” A singer born in 1988 from Saitama Prefecture.
As the tagline “a technopop icon born in the future” suggests, her music is full-on technopop; the upbeat, catchy rhythms will have your body moving before you know it.
Half-mysteriousCoCo

Included on the 1990 album “Strawberry.” They are a female idol group that was formed in 1989 from Otomejuku, a talent training course within Fuji TV’s program “Paradise GoGo!!”.
Shoko Nakagawa covered this song in 2011.
White Wonder LandDream5

Included on the 2016 mini-album “COLORS.” A five-member dance and vocal unit that debuted in 2009.
They were formed from the MTK music segment of NHK Educational’s “Tensai TV-kun MAX.” The group’s name was chosen from viewer submissions.
mysteryRC sakuseshon

Included on the 1984 album “FEEL SO BAD.” A rock band from Tokyo formed in 1968.
Centered around Kiyoshiro Imawano, they are, needless to say, one of Japan’s most iconic rock bands, exerting a strong influence on later generations by establishing Japanese-language rock and a distinctive live performance style.
