Beyond the GlitterNEWS

Beyond the Glitter (Karaoke) (Original Artist: NEWS)
Beyond the GlitterNEWS

It’s a song that gives you hope for tomorrow.

Personally, it’s the NEWS track I’ve listened to the most.

Although it’s not a single and is just an album track—so it tends to fly under the radar—the lyrics are very fresh and beautifully crafted, making it a hidden gem.

To You Who Don’t Know LoveNEWS

Released in 2016 as NEWS’s 20th single.

Marketed with the tagline “the ultimate bittersweet summer love ballad,” it was the group’s first fully fledged ballad single and was used as the ending theme for the NTV Saturday drama The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, starring NEWS member Shigeaki Kato.

Among their A-side singles, it is the longest track in terms of running time.

The Summer When You Were ThereNEWS

A bittersweet end-of-summer love song sung by NEWS.

Despite its refreshing melody that conjures up glittering scenes, the lyrics depict memories of a love that will never return.

The more you remember those happy days, the tighter your chest feels—many of us know that sensation well.

This track was included on the single “ONE – for the win-,” released in June 2014.

When you want to immerse yourself in an unforgettable summer romance, it will quietly stay by your side.

Look that way—Hoi! (A children’s game phrase used when turning your head in a specified direction)NEWS

A track characterized by an up-tempo sound infused with city-pop elements.

It is NEWS’s 31st single, released in November 2024.

The song serves as the theme for the drama “Takasugi-san’s Bento,” starring group member Keiichiro Koyama.

Known for clever wordplay and a distinctive worldview, Zettakun handled the production, and the family-themed lyrics leave a strong impression.

A campaign encouraging dance video posts on social media is also underway, and the song’s arrangement makes it fun to dance to.

Brimming with playful spirit that brings out your inner child, it’s a tune that parents and kids can enjoy together.

Winter MoonNEWS

NEWS winter moon piano ver.
Winter MoonNEWS

“winter moon,” a fleeting yet beautiful winter love story, is a song by the idol group NEWS included on their 2010 release “Fighting Man.” Set against expansive winter landscapes, it portrays two lovers who can never be together.

Alongside melodies that evoke the chill and wistfulness of winter, their rich choral work unfolds.

It could be fun to divide parts and sing it with middle-school friends or classmates.

Try singing this sentimental love song—imbued with a somewhat mature atmosphere—at karaoke.

I often feel that NEWS’s songs express the group’s state and emotions at the time through their lyrics and sound.

It’s because I often find myself naturally moved to tears by the heartfelt messages.

This song, too, has vocals that slip right into your heart and leave me deeply moved.

SUMMER TIMENEWS

NEWS – SUMMER TIME [Official Music Video]
SUMMER TIMENEWS

It was released in 2008 as NEWS’s ninth single.

The song was used in a commercial for Crimson’s “RUSS-K,” and its music video resembles a pop-up picture book; it also drew attention for Tegoshi doing Yoshio Kojima’s gag “Rasta Rasta Pi~ya~.” It reached No.

1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
