Recreating the sound of rain in your browser: How to turn noise into a soothing BGM

Recreating the sound of rain in your browser: How to turn noise into a soothing BGM
Last updated:

The article we’re introducing this time showcases simulators that reproduce various types of noise right in your browser.

With the arrival of PlayStation VR, virtual reality is getting a lot of attention, but the simulators featured here are all about reproducing noise with ultra-realistic fidelity!

Sounds like crowds or rain may be a bit niche, but… it might be a good chance to explore different genres (haha).

All the sites we’re introducing are based overseas, but there’s no need to read English at all—you can operate everything intuitively by looking at the icons.

Give them a try!

rainbowhunt

A website that reproduces raindrop visuals in the browser along with realistic rain sounds.

The screen is quite simple: five icons—including a rain cloud icon and raindrop icon—are lined up, and by adjusting the slider above them, you can enjoy your favorite rain sounds.

RainbowHunt | Ultimate rain simulator.

In particular, the second icon from the left in the image above reproduces the sound of raindrops hitting objects, and when you turn up the volume, the rain sounds so realistic that you might almost mistake it for actual rain outside.

Additionally, the icon on the far right of the image represents 'thunder sound,' and raising it allows you to experience realistic thunder.

How about playing this while you immerse yourself in reading?

Rainy Mood

This simulator is a rain sound simulator app that you can enjoy on Android and iPhone.

Like the previously introduced “rainbowhunt,” this app realistically reproduces the ambient sound of rain and can be enjoyed on your smartphone.

It may be a bit hard to approach for those who think, “Paid apps, huh…,” but as you’d expect from a paid app, the quality is outstanding.

Paying might feel like a bit of a hurdle for simply enjoying the sound of rain, but since there are many more use cases—like when you can’t fall asleep at night, want to focus on studying, or want to block out train noise—compared to the PC version of “rainbowhunt,” it seems worth giving it a try!

myNoize

This is also a site about ambient noise, but it’s one that reproduces various types of noises in addition to the sound of rain.

myNoise

You can listen to a wide range of noise, from natural ambient sounds to radio noise!

The operation is simple: just choose the noise you want to listen to and adjust the slider, like “rainbowhunt.”

You can adjust it while listening to the sound to create your preferred type of noise.

On this site, we offer not only PC versions but also an app for iPhone.

iPhone users can enjoy myNoize’s noise even when they’re out and about (lol).

I couldn't find a link to the myNoise app.

Noisli

The last site I’ll introduce lets you simply click either “Productivity” or “Relax” to easily enjoy soothing natural ambient sounds.

The meanings in English are each...

It's also appealing that you can enjoy the noise with a single click.

Summary

We introduced four “noise” simulators that you can easily enjoy in your browser.

They’re all overseas sites, but just by looking at the icons, you can intuitively enjoy the types of ambient noise you like.

Besides what we introduced this time, if you search for “noise” in the respective stores on Android or iPhone, you’ll find plenty of apps. Why not take this opportunity to enjoy some noise?
