All-you-can-pack roasted sweet potato game
@hirose_ds TranslationElderlyRecreationAutumn#YakiimoAll-you-can-stuff
♬ Exciting with pop! A melody that burns into your mind(845468) – Everyday Sunday
This is a recreation activity where you can stuff as many “baked sweet potatoes” made from newspaper as you like into a plastic bag.
You make the sweet potatoes by wrapping crumpled newspaper in purple copy paper.
Once you’ve placed plenty of sweet potatoes and bags on the table, you’re ready to go.
At the signal to start, the all-you-can-stuff sweet potato game begins.
Participants pack the sweet potatoes into the bag to avoid leaving gaps and try to see how many they can fit within the time limit.
It’s a fun challenge to pack the sweet potatoes so the bag doesn’t tear and nothing falls out.
Persimmon Throwing Game

This is a game where you make persimmons out of newspaper and throw them, inspired by the autumn fruit.
Wrap crumpled newspaper with orange tape and draw leaves with a pen to complete your persimmon.
You can also wrap the newspaper with tissue paper or a plastic bag, then place it inside a plastic bag and trim the excess to create a lightweight and safe persimmon.
A seated game where you aim to toss the persimmons into a net will test your concentration.
If you’re playing with multiple people, it’s also fun to split into teams and try hitting a target placed behind you.
It’s a persimmon-themed activity that people of all ages, from children to seniors, can enjoy.
Moon-viewing game

By the time November arrives, the air is crisp and clear, making the moon and stars look especially beautiful.
So here’s a fun recreation that anyone—young or old—can enjoy.
We call it the “Moon-Viewing Game.” All you need is a sanpō (the traditional three-legged tray used for offerings, like for New Year’s kagami mochi or dumplings during moon-viewing festivals) and some newspaper.
Crumple the newspaper into balls and compete to see how many you can stack on the sanpō.
You can also use balls or candies instead of newspaper and stack those for extra fun.
It’s great because you can customize it in lots of ways—team matches, time attacks, and more!
Table curling

Curling is one of the popular winter sports, and this is its tabletop version.
The rules are almost the same as the real thing.
Stones that remain closest to the center of the circle score points.
It feels a bit like playing marbles.
If you look online, you’ll find sets for sale—give it a try.
Finger exercise: Donguri Korokoro

For those looking for indoor autumn activities, I recommend a finger-movement exercise themed around the song “Donguri Korokoro.” Move your hands in the set order of rock–scissors–paper to the rhythm of the song.
Once you get used to the hand movements, try adding your voice as you go.
Performing it along with guitar, drums, or other percussion will create an even stronger sense of unity.
It’s an activity that gets everyone excited, whether you speed up the tempo and sing or do it together with a large group.
balloon volleyball

Volleyball is the quintessential indoor sport.
It’s a popular activity in PE classes and school clubs.
However, when you want to play volleyball seriously, it can cost money—you might need to rent a gym and buy a ball.
You also have to gather enough players, which can be exhausting before you even start playing.
That’s when balloon volleyball comes in handy! Instead of a ball, you use a balloon, and for the net to divide the court, you can use a piece of string.
This way, you can play without spending much money.
And since you’re using a balloon, it won’t fly too far or hurt if it hits someone.
It’s a game that even young children can enjoy together!

♪ Original Song – The Cheerful Section Chief’s Recreation – The Cheerful Section Chief’s Recreation
Let me introduce a game called “Poi-Poi Cup Drop,” played with paper cups and beanbags.
For preparation, get paper cups with their bottoms colored, and make sure you have the same number in two different colors.
Place the cups upside down (rim side down) along the edge of a table, splitting the colors to the left and right from the center of the edge.
The two players sit at a distance from the table and throw beanbags to knock the cups off.
Using a set number of beanbags, the player who knocks down more cups wins.
As the number of cups decreases, the difficulty rises and the tension builds.
