dragonfly

When you’re in the mood to fold something cute, a dragonfly is a great idea.
This project is divided into three main steps: first, folding the dragonfly’s body; second, folding the wings; and third, adding eyes to the face.
Once you attach the wings to the body, you’ll have an adorably stylized dragonfly.
Even with the same folding method, you can create originality just by changing the color of the paper used for the body.
It’s soothing to make them together and decorate a wall with them.
ghost

Among the events in October, Halloween has grown especially lively in recent years, particularly among young people.
To help older adults enjoy the Halloween spirit as well, how about making an origami ghost? While there are many steps—such as repeatedly folding and unfolding to create creases—there are few parts that require very small folds.
It’s not too easy and not too difficult, making it a good level of challenge for exercising the fingers.
Hopefully, it will also be a nice opportunity to experience a bit of overseas culture.
grapes

How about making grapes—an autumn favorite—out of origami? By layering small circular pieces of paper, you can create three-dimensional grapes that look very cute.
Using papers in various colors can even give them a glossy, lifelike appearance.
You can, of course, enjoy displaying the finished grapes, but the process of making them together is fun too.
Working with your hands also helps stimulate the brain.
If you make grape leaves and tendrils as well, you’ll get an even more autumnal feel—highly recommended.
Why not enjoy some cheerful conversation together while savoring the arrival of autumn?

maple leaves

When you try to make a maple leaf out of origami, it can be quite a struggle to get that leaf shape right.
But with this method, you can make a clean, beautiful maple leaf easily without any intricate folding! Here’s how: first, fold the origami paper into quarters, then in half again, and again… continuing until it’s divided into 32 sections.
Here comes the key step: unfold the creases up to the halfway fold, then use scissors to cut along the edge in a zigzag pattern.
This lets you create a maple leaf without complicated folds! After that, accordion-fold along the initial creases, shape it into a fan, and glue it in place—and you’re done! It’s a simple process, so give it a try.
pumpkin

Here are some pumpkin ideas you can enjoy in various ways.
Pumpkins are widely known as a vegetable that’s in season in autumn.
So if you fold paper pumpkins and use them as decorations, you can enjoy a cozy fall atmosphere.
The folding method is very simple, so you could make lots of them and create a pumpkin patch.
You can also fold them for Halloween, draw faces on them, and turn them into jack-o’-lanterns.
In that case, try using yellow origami paper.
medal

There are many variations of the phrase “Autumn is for 〇〇.” Among them, I’d like to share an idea that’s perfect for “Sports in Autumn”: medals.
You know, the kind you get when you place.
You can fold them in any color you like, or use gold, silver, and bronze origami paper.
If you prepare them in advance and use them as prizes during sports activities, it’s sure to liven things up.
You can attach a string so they can be worn around the neck, or add a pin to make them into badges—both are fun options.
Pacific saury

When you think of autumn, you think of Pacific saury.
So how about making a saury out of origami this time? Folding a saury with origami makes a great seasonal decoration for your room.
If you use both the colored side and the white side of the paper, it will look even more realistic.
Adding a small sticker for the eye is a nice touch, too.
The finer details might be tricky, but let’s encourage each other and have fun making it together.
If you hang the finished origami saury on the wall, it will surely create an autumn vibe.
