There are plates made specifically for plate spinning, so be sure to use those.
The key tips are: first, hold the stick near the bottom.
Next, start spinning by guiding the tip of the stick along the inner edge of the rim on the underside of the plate.
Once it stabilizes and you stop the stick’s motion, fix the stick into the small indent at the center of the plate and keep it spinning.
Practice until you really get the hang of it.

There are often people who just imitate Sunshine Ikezaki by being loud, but simply being noisy isn’t enough.
Get into character from the look—put on a running shirt, shorts, and a hachimaki—and make sure you’ve thoroughly learned the routine.
