Liesanari

It’s a masterpiece that poignantly and gently sings of the human heart.
Included on Sanari’s album “SICKSTEEN,” released in June 2019, this track is memorable for its melodious rap and emotionally resonant vocals.
In the one-take music video featuring 23 dancers, Sanari himself takes on dancing for the first time, vividly expressing the world of the lyrics.
The song blends human warmth with a tinge of melancholy, and its deeply affecting lyrics and sound are its biggest draw.
It’s a track I’d recommend to anyone who resonates with feelings for a loved one or the care they hold for someone important.

Azure Swimnishina

A gem of a track by Nishina that delicately portrays the feelings of reexamining one’s own path.
It features a fragile yet powerful voice and a melody line that gently seeps in.
Included on the album “1999,” released in June 2022, this song serves as a send-off imbued with Nishina’s determination to take a new step forward as a solo artist.
The lyrics capture both the resolve to live freely, like swimming, and a pure commitment to chasing dreams—gently nudging anyone embarking on a new chapter.
It’s a song to play when you need the courage to dive into a new environment or when you’re searching for your own way.
Goodbyeofukōsu

This work is a single released in 1979 by Off Course, a band centered around Kazumasa Oda.
At first glance the lyrics seem simple, but a closer read reveals a song open to multiple interpretations depending on the listener.
It’s clearly a breakup scene, yet it’s a bit ambiguous whether they part ways while still having feelings due to unavoidable circumstances, or whether it’s because the man’s feelings have changed.
Even so, the melody and the chorus that repeatedly sings “Sayonara” are so impactful that you can ride the momentum and listen straight through to the end.
Graduationgagaga supi

It’s a famous song, so I imagine many people know it.
It expresses the complicated feelings of parting and the ache of it in a straightforward, cool way.
It has a refreshing sense of racing forward.
There’s something quietly moving about the part where everyone sings the chorus together.
Live.CRAZY KEN BAND

“Life—just being alive is profit!” When I listen to this song by Ken Yokoyama, I start to feel that brooding over things is a waste of our limited time on earth.
It’s not a bossy “come on, try harder,” but more like, “I’ll always be by your side—I’m saved by you too, you know! So come on out into the world.” It speaks to you that way—what a wonderful piece.
It’s a track I especially want the younger generation to hear, from the 2007 album SOUL Denpa.
Young PeopleSanīdēi Sābisu

This is a song whose vocals seep into the heart like gentle sunlight, paired with a strikingly beautiful melody.
Through small everyday moments and scenery, it portrays the delicate emotions of adolescence—anxieties and conflicts about growing up, and the uncertainty of staying true to oneself.
The vocals are understated yet leave a deep afterglow, and the simple but richly expressive performance draws you into its world.
Released in April 1995 on Sunny Day Service’s major-label debut album “Wakamonotachi,” it has long been cherished as one of the band’s signature works.
It’s best enjoyed on a quiet night, alone with your thoughts.
You may find that the unspoken feelings in your heart are gently embraced.
Love songSambomasutā

This song is striking for the floating feel of its chorus melody.
As the title suggests, it’s a straightforward love song and very cool.
It’s a slow ballad, yet it still feels distinctly rock.
The final chorus really hits home, so I hope you’ll listen to it on a solitary night.
