Songs with titles that start with “Pe” (page, paper, paint, etc.)

In this article, I’ll introduce a bunch of songs whose titles start with “Pe.”

I hope this will be useful in various situations, such as playing shiritori using song titles, doing “shiritori karaoke” where you link songs together like in shiritori, or choosing tracks for playlists like “songs with titles that start with the P row sounds.”

We don’t usually search for songs that start with a specific character, so you might discover tracks you haven’t encountered before.

I’d be delighted if you find a favorite song here and it helps with your shiritori games, karaoke sessions, or playlist making.

Pink Lady is a big-name act that changed Showa-era Japan and became a social phenomenon.

From their debut, they rocketed straight down the road to stardom—so much so that many people even know their first single was “Pepper Keibu” (Sergeant Pepper).

Their physical stamina to withstand grueling schedules was absolutely formidable.

P.E.T!REISAI

A mature-tinged love song, “P.E.T!”.

It’s a track released by the music unit REISAI.

Within the song, the push-and-pull between a man and a woman—and even jealousy—are portrayed using a variety of metaphors.

Pay attention to those turns of phrase.

The mid-song key change that ushers in a moment of quiet is also a striking touch.

You can feel the characters’ pounding hearts and messy emotions through the shifts in melody.

Plus, the music video—reminiscent of an anime opening—is a must-see.

Perorincho.SLAVE V-V-R

If you want to listen to hard rock Vocaloid, this is it! It’s a track by the popular Vocaloid producer SLAVE.V-V-R, known for their “failed retirement,” released in October 2023.

The quintessential, high-impact rock sound really pumps you up.

And the way it transitions from whispery vocals to powerful shouts is insanely cool.

The sound has enough power to blow away any small worries or anxieties.

Their music has been widely acclaimed, and they’ve been tapped for theme songs in anime and films both in Japan and abroad.

PeddlersTOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA

This piece is based on the original song Korobushka, which is famous as a folk dance tune.

In Russian it’s written as Коробе́йники (Korobeiniki), which means “peddlers” in Japanese.

Arranged in a ska style, it has a brisk, businesslike sound befitting merchants.

It was released on a major label in 1990.

“Penumbra,” written and composed by Vocaloid producer Dopamine, was unveiled in April 2023.

Its performance at the Niconico Chokaigi 2023 live event generated buzz.

The technical sound design—combining futuristic electronic textures with piano tones—leaves a strong impression.

The skillful vocal work and the passionate chorus are also captivating.

painVaundy

pain / Vaundy :MUSIC VIDEO
painVaundy

This song is imbued with deep insight into the absurdity of life.

It sincerely confronts the meaning of birth and the burdens humans carry, using weighty lyrics to raise probing questions.

Its mellow sound and arrangements that consciously evoke a subtle sense of dissonance make this message-driven track all the more striking.

Released on YouTube in June 2019, this work is Vaundy’s first original song as an artist.

It was also included on a CD released exclusively at a self-organized live show the same year, and was performed at a no-audience solo concert at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in August 2020.

It’s a recommended listen when you want to think deeply about how to live and your relationship with society, or when you wish to reexamine the meaning of life.

It gently stays close to the listener’s heart and will evoke profound empathy.
