Progressive house is a derivative of house music that developed in the 1990s primarily in the UK and other European countries, and today it’s recognized as a subgenre of EDM.
At its inception, the term began to be used among influential producers to describe experimental sound-making and attempts that diverged from the methods of the original house music.
Its sound is close to trance and melodic house & techno, and it remains persistently popular.
