PUNK SPRING 2016 Performing Artists (1–10)

My Instant SongMONOEYES

My Instant SongMONOEYES

MONOEYES is a new band featuring Hosomi, the frontman renowned for his work with the hugely popular bands ELLEGARDEN and the HIATUS, who is currently on hiatus from activities.

The song has a vibe that could be described as distinctly ELLEGARDEN-like—bright, catchy, and instantly engaging.

Hosomi is as cool as ever! This track really reminds you of that.

MONOEYES will perform at the Tokyo show only.

Dig Up Her BonesMisfits

Amid a lineup heavy with pop-punk and melodic hardcore, a true hardcore punk band takes the stage.

They started in 1977, broke up for a time, then reunited and continue to this day.

This track has a sense of speed—raw, simple, and cool—capturing that quintessential punk vibe.

Following Sum 41, here’s another Canadian pop-punk band: Simple Plan’s hit song “Welcome to My Life.” The bright vibe of the track, the vocals, and that inexplicably catchy, sing-along melody make it incredibly memorable.

I can’t contain my excitement at the thought of seeing Simple Plan live.

I’m sure many of you feel the same way.

Still WaitingSUM41

Sum 41 is a band from Canada.

With their short, spiked hair and low-slung guitars and basses, Sum 41 looks like the quintessential punk band—many of you probably covered their songs back in your school days.

I did, too, in high school; they were one of the bands I admired.

At this year’s Punkspring, why not watch Sum 41 and enjoy a touch of nostalgia?

Lonely GirlTonight Alive

Starting with an intense drum phrase and a slightly refreshing guitar riff, this song by Tonight Alive layers heavy guitars with female vocals.

Female vocals are relatively rare, aren’t they? In this Pan Sub as well, she stands out as the sole woman, delivering an exceptional presence.
