It’s a masterpiece whose dry lyricism strikes the heart, as if you can picture someone walking alone across a wilderness at dusk.

The distinct view of life and death characteristic of Atsushi Sakurai, who wrote the lyrics, is deeply reflected here, portraying the protagonist’s quiet resolve in the face of an unavoidable fate.

This track is included on the acclaimed album “memento mori,” released in February 2009.

Listen to it on a solitary, contemplative night or as a companion on a long drive, and you’ll find yourself immersed in a lingering afterglow—as if you’ve watched a film.

A B-side track from the advance single “RENDEZVOUS” off the album “Tenshi no Revolver.” It is also a self-cover of a song that was included on their first album, “SEXUAL×××××!.” In a 2012 fan poll, it ranked first among songs excluding those from the Victor/Mercury era, making it a hidden gem highly popular among fans.

BUCK-TICK is a legendary band that has left behind many masterpieces.

Even after the passing of Atsushi Sakurai, they continue to be loved by countless fans.

Their song “Aku no Hana” is their biggest hit.

It’s characterized by a musical style that blends gothic rock and alternative rock, and it became a nationwide success.

Throughout the piece, the vocal range is set relatively narrow.

There are instances of subtle vibrato, but you don’t necessarily have to match the original exactly—singing it more freely and expansively is also a great option.

BUCK-TICK’s first single, released to the world in October 1986 on an indie label.

Unlike the later, polished gothic image, this is sharp, rough-hewn punk rock.

The lyrics hint at scheming and leave interpretation to the listener, creating a distinctly mysterious atmosphere.

It reached No.

6 on the indie singles chart and was later included as the B-side to their major-label single “Just One More Kiss.” This is a track you’ll want to hear if you want to experience the raw, primordial impulse at the band’s core.

A milestone 30th single.

This work was composed upon request to serve as the opening song for the anime “Shiki.” In creating the song, the members read the original manga to thoroughly understand its world, and composed it based on that.

As a result, the atmosphere of the music and the lyrics match the content very well.

A beautiful ballad that portrays the ache of unrequited love and a journey of self-discovery.

Its gentle melody and Hidehiko Hoshino’s spacious synth sound leave a strong impression.

Atsushi Sakurai’s rich vocals evoke memories of a lost romance and a yearning for freedom.

Released in June 1993, it reached No.

5 on the Oricon charts and sold approximately 171,000 copies.

In 2005, it was also used as the opening theme for the anime Trinity Blood.

Highly recommended as a soul-stirring song for those who, even while carrying the pain of heartbreak, are trying to look ahead.
