“Oyama no Suginoko” is also known as one of Hachiro Sato’s representative songs, but the original lyrics were written by a different lyricist.
It was originally a song meant to encourage children whose fathers had died in the war, but because it was considered too war-themed, Hachiro Sato revised it into the current lyrics.

Based on rice-planting and children’s songs beloved in the Tohoku region, Toshiaki Okamoto composed a mixed chorus arrangement in 1936.
As for the lyrics, there are theories that Kiyoshi Toyoguchi wrote them, or that they were collected from folk songs.
On NHK’s “Minna no Uta,” it was introduced in 1961, the year the program began broadcasting, sung by Hiroko Nakamura.
A gentle green breezehibari jidō gasshōdan3rank/position

It gives a refreshing and very bright feeling.
A soft, springtime scene comes to mind.
Whether you’re in a meadow or by a stream, whatever you’re doing, a sense of comfort comes through.
It was at the 70th anniversary concert of the Hibari Children’s Chorus; they’re adults now, but their singing voices are still beautiful.
Jabu-Jabu Dancehibari jidō gasshōdan4rank/position

When you hear the lyrics “Ah—jab-jab, ah—feels so good,” it’s the kind of bon dance tune that makes you want to do the laundry or hop in the bath.
Since it was featured on Minna no Uta, it seems like a fun song to sing with kids.
I’d love to listen to it in the summer when I want to feel refreshed.
Chargeman Ken!hibari jidō gasshōdan5rank/position

Chargeman Ken! is a TV anime produced by Knack.
It was not very well known at first, but from the late 2000s it gained attention on video-sharing sites and eventually saw a DVD release.
The theme song is sung by the Hibari Children’s Choir.
I am a child of the sea.hibari jidō gasshōdan6rank/position

It’s a song about the sea that appears in textbooks and is familiar to everyone.
Although the era in which it was created gives it old-fashioned language that may seem difficult, its content is simple, honestly depicting the life and feelings of a boy living by the seaside.
It straightforwardly portrays his cherishing of the ever-present sea and how he learns strength from its changing aspects.
The lyricist and composer are officially unknown, but a strong theory holds that children’s literature author Koichiro Miyahara wrote the lyrics, and a monument to the song has been erected in Gion-no-su Park in Kagoshima Prefecture, where he was from.

Gekkō Kamen is an anime about a hero in white robes who keeps fighting evil.
It was also adapted into live action.
The realistically grounded idea of him rushing to the scene on a motorcycle is really cool.
Some of you may have listened to the theme song “Gekkō Kamen” and wondered, “Who in the world is he, really?”
