Speaking of feel-good songs, this track “Joyful” is surely one that always gets mentioned, right? Released in 2009 as Ikimonogakari’s 15th single, it’s also strongly associated with Glico’s Pocky commercials.
It’s the perfect song for those times when your mood shoots up unconditionally and you just want to forget everything and sing or dance! (lol) It might be a good one to try at karaoke when you want to cheer yourself up, even if you have to force it a little.

This is Ikimono-gakari’s 28th single and the theme song for the anime The Seven Deadly Sins.
It’s been over five years since Ikimono-gakari last worked on an anime song with Hotaru no Hikari, and perhaps because of that, this track feels especially passionate.

This song by the nationally beloved pop unit Ikimonogakari was released during their indie days in 2003, and a rearranged version was later included on their major-label album “Hajimari no Uta.” It’s a uniquely Ikimonogakari number that exquisitely fuses an early signature—an aesthetic rooted in traditional Japanese sensibilities—with an uptempo style.
The lyrics and music were written by Hotaka Yamashita, who was a member until 2021 and played guitar and harmonica.
With its literary lyrics layered with imagery of cosmos flowers, the song conveys a profound depiction of emotions reminiscent of budding romance.
