L’Arc~en~Ciel is also well known for having sold their 2007 single “Hurry Xmas” every year for four years, changing the packaging each time.
This time, we’ll be introducing some of their Christmas-themed songs.
It’s been over 25 years since they formed, and we’re eagerly awaiting their return to activity, but for now, let’s calm down by listening to some of their older tracks.

The CM, brimming with sophisticated adult appeal, features one of L’Arc~en~Ciel’s signature songs, “Hurry Xmas,” as its background music.
The track pairs a catchy, up-tempo melody with scenes of spending Christmas with someone special.
Highly recommended for those looking for a bright, upbeat Christmas song.

L’Arc-en-Ciel is a quintessential Japanese rock band that breezed through the music scenes of the ’90s, ’00s, and ’10s, and still enjoys tremendous popularity in the ’20s.
Among the songs they’ve released, the most classic and straightforward Christmas track is “Hurry Xmas,” unveiled in 2007.
However, among devoted fans, there’s another song recognized as a Christmas tune: “I Wish.” I especially recommend it to those who aren’t familiar with L’Arc’s ’90s era.
Eschewing strict guitar-rock conventions, its sparkling arrangement—featuring a bouncy rhythm, organ, horn sections, and a children’s chorus—creates a pop song brimming with that unmistakably Christmassy atmosphere.
In fact, the song doesn’t explicitly sing about Christmas, but its original working title was “Christmas,” and if you read the lyrics, you’ll spot words that evoke the season.
Why not try playing this track as background music at a Christmas party for L’Arc fans?

Released in 1998 as their eighth single, it was L’Arc~en~Ciel’s first song to reach No.
1 on the Oricon charts.
Spurred by the massive success of this track, they stepped up to become one of Japan’s leading rock bands.
It’s a grandly scaled medium-tempo ballad, and the drum and horn arrangements are really cool.
It feels amazing to sing at karaoke!
