Magic/Conjuring Popular Tricks Ranking (51–60)
A magic trick where a bill moves between tiers of rubber bands57rank/position

Introducing a mysterious magic trick where a bill moves down step by step along “stairs” made from rubber bands! You’ll use two rubber bands.
Loop a rubber band around the index and ring finger of each hand, then use your thumbs to hook the rubber band from the lowest “step” and bring it up.
Next, insert your fingers into the loops you’ve created—that’s the setup done.
Have someone place a folded bill on the top step, then release your fingers one by one starting from the index fingers.
It will look as if the bill is traveling down the steps! It’s simple, yet appears wonderfully baffling to spectators, so practice it and give it a try.
A handkerchief pierced through the smartphone!58rank/position

Let’s amaze everyone by making a handkerchief pass through a guest’s smartphone.
First, cut a piece of plastic sheet (like those from a 100-yen shop) into a rectangle with a slit big enough for the handkerchief to go through.
Thread the handkerchief through the slit and keep it hidden beforehand.
Start by borrowing the guest’s smartphone and taking out the handkerchief, making sure the plastic sheet stays concealed from the guest.
Then attach the plastic sheet to the phone and pull the handkerchief through.
You’ll need to be clever about how you hold everything so the plastic sheet stays invisible, so practice thoroughly!
A tissue pierces through the handkerchief.59rank/position

The tissue that was supposed to be curled up in the cup pierces right through the handkerchief! The key to this magic trick is using magnets cleverly.
Prepare a tissue in advance by rolling it up with a magnet hidden inside.
Next, roll up the tissue you’re going to put into the cup, and at the moment you roll it, quietly slip the magnet inside.
Then drape a handkerchief over the cup that contains the magnetized tissue, and when you push the handkerchief into the cup, gently place another magnetized tissue on top of the handkerchief.
The tissue inside the cup and the one on top of the handkerchief will stick together, making it look as if the handkerchief has been pierced!
A handkerchief turns into an egg60rank/position

This is a magic trick that captivates the audience with an unexpected twist: a handkerchief turns into an egg.
All you need is a toy egg and a handkerchief.
With the toy egg secretly palmed, hold out your hand and push the handkerchief into the clenched hand.
Make sure you’ve prepared the egg by making a hole in the back beforehand so the handkerchief can be tucked inside.
After adding a bit of showmanship—like blowing on your hand—produce the egg and you’re done.
Be careful not to show the hole on the back, or the secret will be revealed.

Water comes out of an empty bucket.61rank/position

Some of you may be looking for a magic trick you can learn quickly.
One I recommend is a trick where water comes out of an empty bucket.
For this trick, you’ll use a small bucket, a water balloon, and a pair of chopsticks with a needle attached to the tip.
First, inflate the water balloon and set it inside the bucket.
Then, while making sure the balloon doesn’t fall out, turn the bucket upside down to show it.
Next, say you’re casting a spell with the chopsticks and pop the balloon with the needle on the tip.
Finally, pour the water out of the bucket to reveal the effect, and you’re done.
The pen in my hand disappears in an instant.62rank/position

For those who like flashy visuals, I recommend a trick where the pen in your hand seems to vanish in an instant.
The basic setup is to pinch both ends of the pen between the thumbs and index fingers of your left and right hands.
Then, apply pressure with the fingers of your dominant hand and pull inward.
From the front, it should look as if the pen has disappeared.
If you repeatedly make the pen appear and disappear using the same method, you’re sure to amaze your audience.
If possible, angle your dominant-hand side slightly toward the spectator to make it harder to detect.
The straw that never gets used up63rank/position

You hold five straws in your hand and say, “I’ll pull one out from here,” then remove one right in front of them.
Logically, there should be four straws left in your hand… but wait—there are still five.
You try again and say, “Let’s pull out one more,” yet even after removing another, the number of straws remains five and doesn’t decrease.
It’s a simple trick that can puzzle even adults, and the secret is very straightforward: inside a straw that has a vertical slit cut into it, you hide another straw of the same color, and the one you’re pulling out is the inner straw.
A tip to make the inner straw easier to remove is to make the slit straw slightly shorter.
