The soothing vocals and gentle sound slowly seep into your heart.
This is SUPER BUTTER DOG’s eighth single, released in October 2001, and a classic also included on the album “grooblue.” The lyrics portray parting not as a mere ending, but as something warm that continues beyond, gently giving listeners a supportive push.
Perfect as a send-off for someone special or as BGM for a slideshow reminiscing about cherished memories.

When it comes to representatives of Japanese funk, it’s no exaggeration to name them—and this is their signature “dark” song.
Its strikingly poignant lyrics are sung over a rock-tinged sound you don’t hear much in their other tracks.
Things we stop thinking about as we become adults, things you can only feel with raw sensitivity when you’re young… It’s as if the song speaks on our behalf.
Go to tomorrowSUPER BUTTER DOG3rank/position

SUPER BUTTER DOG is known as the band that once included Takashi Nagazumi, who performs as Hanaregumi, and Takafumi Ikeda, who performs as Rekishi.
Vocalist Nagazumi’s singing voice is gentle and soft, with a charm that slips right into your heart.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “Ashita e Yuke” (“Go Toward Tomorrow”).
It was included as the B-side to their signature 2005 single “Sayonara Color,” and features a laid-back performance over which Nagazumi’s calm vocals resonate.
The lyrics are appealing in how they affirm and accept who you are, and, just as the title suggests, give you a push to “go toward tomorrow.” Even on nights when something unpleasant has happened, listening to this track might help you look to tomorrow with hope.

A song imbued with the desire to pause amid the busyness of daily life and cherish time to face your own heart—its exquisite melody is truly captivating.
The ambitious work SUPER BUTTER DOG released in November 1997 captured many hearts with its sprightly rhythms that fuse funk and rock, and lyrics so delicate they seem to seep into the soul.
Takashi Nagazumi’s vocals gently envelop inner tremors, loneliness, and hope, leaving a lasting impression.
It also made waves as the opening theme for TBS’s music program “BLITZ INDEX,” and was included on the album “FREEWAY.” This track is perfect for those moments when you’re worn out by hectic days or want to take a slow, honest look at yourself.
Loved by many as a warm song that quietly gives you a nudge forward when your heart feels a bit heavy.
Afternoon of 5 seconds agoSUPER BUTTER DOG5rank/position

A hidden gem by SUPER BUTTER DOG, synonymous with Japanese funk.
Among their works, which are heavily funk-influenced, this one is a bit unusual, opening with just keys and vocals.
The straightforward yet profound lyrics, paired with the elusive, airy singing, heighten the sense of melancholy.
Rather than cheering on love, it feels like a song that gives you a push so you won’t have regrets.
Yo! BroSUPER BUTTER DOG6rank/position

This is a track included on the third album “Hello! Feed☆Back” by SUPER BUTTER DOG, the legendary funk rock band that featured members like Hanaregumi and Rekishi.
The song’s content brings back memories of how childhood fights between siblings used to follow the seniority system.

Included on the 5th album “grooblue,” released in 2001.
The music video, filmed amid huge excitement during a live performance at a kindergarten with the children singing along, is just too much fun.
It makes you feel that the Japanese language is wonderful and that the fifty sounds are infinite.
They sadly disbanded in 2008.
