This commercial song, distinguished by its sparkling piano sound, shines like sunlight.
Used in the “Freshly Picked” version of the Pure Select Mayonnaise commercial, it was composed by Masakatsu Takagi, who is also known for scoring the animated film Wolf Children.
Its charm lies in a tone that feels somehow nostalgic yet fresh.
Even on the first listen, a sense of wistfulness begins to bloom in your heart.
It’s a piece that makes you want to visit a place rich in nature, take a deep breath, and spend a long, leisurely day.
Kito-kito – The Four-Legged DanceTakagi Masakatsu2rank/position

This is a piece by Masakatsu Takagi that colors the scene in the film Wolf Children where the family dashes through the snowy mountains.
It was included on the soundtrack released in July 2012, and it has also become familiar as the music used in Suntory’s “Southern Alps Natural Mineral Water” commercials.
Centered on the piano, its acoustic soundscape vividly captures the sense of motion—running and leaping.
With its brisk, steadily building structure, I think it would suit the highlight of a magic act or show.

Does your cat like the sound of water? My cat is a bit unusual and likes to play with water, but there are many cats that enjoy the sound of water and watching it flow, right? Masakatsu Takagi’s “Aqua” is a track that such cats might find intriguing to listen to—it features a gentle piano melody accompanied by soothing sounds of water and bubbles rising and popping.
They might enjoy the visuals, too.

It also became a hot topic as the music for Sumitomo Life’s commercial featuring Mao Asada.
The piano melody, with its very distinctive intro that feels like racing across a grassland, is captivating.
The slightly mismatched images in the PV are somehow maddening.
One OneTakagi Masakatsu5rank/position

Starting with a scene of Ayami Nakajo riding a bicycle along the seaside, followed by a shot of her rinsing her hair with shampoo, this is a commercial for Kao’s Merit Pyuan.
The visuals leave a lasting impression of cleanliness and freshness, and the background music further enhances that crisp feel.
The song is “One One” by musician Masakatsu Takagi.
The characteristically Takagi pairing of piano and strings is beautiful, resulting in a track that feels wonderfully refreshing.

In this commercial with a strong impact—featuring Masahiro Motoki dressed as a samurai and Mana Ashida drinking vividly green Iyemon tea on a pure white snowy path—the expansive, vibrant BGM is by filmmaker and composer Masakatsu Takagi.
The original piece, created for the ad and titled “Midorigo,” unfortunately does not appear to have an official release.
A pianist who is also highly regarded in the electronic music world, Takagi has scored many of director Mamoru Hosoda’s animated films.
“Midorigo” features elegant strings that evoke the feel of film music, making you really want to hear the full version.
