This is the opening theme of the TV anime “Boukyaku Battery,” released digitally in April 2024.

The lyrics blend the sparkle of youth with a touch of bittersweetness that comes with growing up.

With a driving sound, the song accompanies the characters’ setbacks and comebacks.

The vocal range is D3–C#5, climbing higher toward the chorus, so it’s recommended for those comfortable with high notes.

Try singing as if projecting your voice into a wide space without straining your throat—letting the breath carry the sound will help you sing more easily.

It’s a youth anthem, so be sure to get the crowd going at karaoke!

idolYOASOBI16rank/position

YOASOBI "Idol" Official Music Video
idolYOASOBI

It’s a song that was released for streaming in April 2023 as the opening theme of the anime “Oshi no Ko,” and it became a global hit.

Based on the novel “45510,” it features lyrics depicting an idol’s “light and shadow,” and a sound that fuses idol pop, rap, and religious-style choral elements.

It was also extremely popular in vocal training at the time! I recommend thinking of it as containing multiple songs within one track and clearing them one by one, which helps organize it in your head.

The range is quite high, so if chest voice is difficult, sing with a falsetto-like tone.

As long as your tempo and rhythm don’t slip, you’re good!

Koresawa - To All My Ex-Girlfriends [Lyric Video]
To all my ex-girlfriendsKoresawa

Koresawa, who enjoys overwhelming popularity especially among younger generations, is a singer-songwriter from Osaka known for basically not showing her face and appearing as “Reko-chan,” a bear girl, in MVs.

Her songs—sung with outstanding melodic sense and lyrics that skillfully, and at times candidly, express women’s true feelings—are also hugely popular at karaoke.

The track we’re introducing this time, the impressively titled “To All My Ex-Girlfriends,” is a digital single released in 2024 and a hit distinguished by its MV set in a karaoke box.

Its country-flavored, upbeat sound, lyrics that keep slightly hard-to-say emotions bright, and catchy melody all showcase her impeccable taste.

While the overall pitch sits a bit on the higher side, the melodic line is easy to sing, and those with lower voices can handle it just fine by adjusting the key.

Be mindful of the bouncy rhythm, and make sure to bring out the contrast between smoothly connected sections and crisply articulated parts!

This is a poignant song that portrays the pain and inner conflict of love.

Released by Saucy Dog in August 2021, it sharply expresses actions that go against one’s true feelings and the sense of betrayal within a romantic relationship.

Written from a female perspective, the lyrics skillfully depict the protagonist’s complex emotions as she struggles with the gap between ideals and reality.

While pop and melodious, the track carries a bittersweet atmosphere and unfolds with the band’s signature rock sound.

It gained major popularity especially among young people, ranking second in the 2022 annual karaoke charts.

It’s a perfect song for those who want to share the anguish of love, as well as for high school students looking to have fun with friends.

Macaroni Enpitsu’s “Koibito Gokko” was released for early streaming on February 7, 2020, and is a signature track included on the album “hope,” released on April 1.

It features lyrics depicting bittersweet lingering feelings and an ambiguous relationship, paired with a gentle yet emotionally resonant sound.

Since it was featured in Honda’s “Hop on a bike?” tie-in and a Spotify commercial, the chorus may sound familiar.

Many vocal-training students are fans of Macaroni Enpitsu, so it could be good to have at least one song you can sing.

That said, the vocal range is on the higher side, so be careful not to strain and hurt your throat.

Singing with a bright expression helps open the throat, so projecting your voice boldly is key! Try to stay relaxed and avoid losing timing right before the first chorus.

If I could become a constellationkessoku bando

Kessoku Band’s most famous song, “If We Could Become a Constellation.” The melody isn’t difficult and the rhythm is calm, so many of my vocal training students chose to sing it.

Actually, JOYSOUND staff are doing something called the “95-Point Challenge” with this song, so with practice you might be able to boost your score quite a bit! The overall vocal range is G3–C#5.

The chorus hits C5 repeatedly, so some people might feel it’s “high,” but the melody has momentum, so if you focus on accents, you’ll be fine! First, listen carefully to identify which parts are the high notes.

Take the spots where you think, “Maybe here?” and turn them into accents by riding the rhythm with some drive.

The key point is to project your voice forward! Start with sectional practice so you can produce sound comfortably, and do your best!

Noa (Noshii) – Omnidirectional Beautiful Girl [Official Music Video]
omnidirectional beautynozomi

Noshi is a female singer-songwriter who has gained popularity for her music brimming with originality.

She has many comical songs, and their impact draws attention every time.

You could say her work is especially popular among subculture-inclined girls.

Among Noshi’s tracks, the one I particularly recommend is “Zen Hoko Bishoujo” (“All-Direction Beautiful Girl”).

Though it leaves a strong impression, its vocal range is not especially wide, spanning mid2A to hi C#.

If the falsetto parts are tough, it’s a good idea to lower the key with a focus on those sections.

Moody yet highly addictive, this song is sure to hype up any karaoke session.
