Tempalay is a rock band with a distinctively mysterious, lo-fi sound, formed in 2014 around vocalist Ayato Obara.

Their harmonies, which linger clearly after just one listen, and their somewhat nostalgic worldview—likely influenced by 1960s psychedelic rock—have captivated many music fans.

Their new single, released in February 2020, is this work.

It’s a track that gives off a decadent impression, to the point where it feels as if the unsettling mood pervading society has been reflected in the piece.

Included on the album “((ika)),” this piece was released in May 2024 to commemorate Tempalay’s 10th anniversary.

It unfolds a unique world where psychedelic elements blend with indie rock.

It’s the kind of song you’ll want to listen to while gazing at the moon on a quiet night—perfect for long autumn evenings.
