A collaboration no one could have imagined at the time of its release: Japan’s representative rock ’n’ roll band THE BAWDIES teaming up with Japan’s premier soul singer, AI.
It’s the first collaboration in the band’s history, produced by NAOKI from the familiar LOVE PSYCHEDELICO.
There’s a backstory that when the song was written, ROY heard a woman’s voice singing the lead in his head, and he reached out to AI as a female vocalist who could authentically express soul music in Japan.
As for the single’s B-side, which includes this track, ROY asked AI to join him in covering Percy Mayfield’s “Hit the Road Jack,” and they recorded and included it.
