List of Reggae Festivals Nationwide [2026]

This is an outdoor music festival held at a special venue on the Central Pier in Kaigan-cho, Muroran City, Hokkaido. Organized by club RED HILL and supported by Muroran City and others, it is known as the largest outdoor reggae event in Hokkaido. Centered on reggae and hip-hop, about 25 artists gather in the port town each time, raising their passionate voices at Muroran Port together with roughly 800 fans who come from all over Japan. Numerous vendors, including food trucks, line the venue. In 2026, it will be held in June.

“2525 MUSIC FES” is a music festival launched in 2025 by the mobile marché “2525marché,” championing “A FUN TIME FULL OF SMILES,” and set in Chubudai Sports Park in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. Centered on reggae, hip-hop, and R&B, it features a paid live area with performers including VIGORMAN, alongside a free area with around 100 food and market stalls and a kids’ area. The second edition will be held in May 2026.

Jamaica Festival Reggae & Cuisine is a free outdoor festival themed “A Day to Feel Jamaica.” The venue is Taiyo-no-Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park. Enjoy DJ and singer performances on a reggae sound system, a Jerk Chicken Fest gathering renowned jerk chicken shops from across Japan, plus a market and workshops featuring Jamaican food. In May 2026, Osaka Castle Park will be filled with the spirit of Jamaica for a day.

“Shigasaku – Irie Run Festival” is a reggae festival held every summer on the shores of Lake Biwa. The venue is Takashima Biwakko Park in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, offering a beachside location with expansive views of the lake and sky. In addition to leading figures of Japan’s reggae scene such as CHEHON, NG HEAD, and HISATOMI, sound crews from around the country and dance shows also gather to bring an irie vibe to the day. Scheduled for July 2026.
