When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

There are so many rock festivals nationwide that you may have had the experience of missing some.

To help you avoid that bitter experience, we’ve compiled information here on rock festivals held in western Japan.

Okinawa Prefecture

MYSTIC JAMBOREESaturday, 3/28, Okinawa Prefecture

How about enjoying DJ music by the sea in Kadena, on Okinawa’s main island? At a special venue set up right by the water, a fantastic event will let you soak up an early taste of summer while taking in ocean views, drinks in hand, and great music. The lineup includes skilled guest DJs, so keep an eye on the roster. With tropical food available on-site and a superb location and atmosphere, it’s a rare chance to fully enjoy Okinawa while having a great time—highly recommended.
