Hit and popular songs by SCANDAL

Let me introduce songs by SCANDAL, a nonstop four-piece girls’ rock band.

SCANDAL was formed when members who originally attended a vocal and dance school were invited by an instructor to try playing instruments.

While they enjoy idol-like popularity, they also have many captivating songs, and I imagine many people have covered them as copy bands at school festivals.

The gear they use is mainly from Fender, and Squier, a Fender subsidiary, offers cute yet cool signature models that perfectly match their image.

If you’re a female guitarist or bassist who admires them, be sure to check them out.

SCANDAL BABYSCANDAL

With its life-sized, forward-looking, and powerful lyrics paired with a bright, rock-inspired sound, I’d say this song is quintessentially SCANDAL.

It’s packed with each member’s unique charm, so I highly recommend experiencing it live, not just through CDs or videos.

Before I knew it, I felt a push on my back—from this song.

The lyrics, which the members wrote together after discussing them, have become a work that people of the same generation can’t help but deeply relate to because of its strikingly real emotions.

When you listen to the song, I hope you’ll follow along with the lyrics.

It’s a cheer song that gives you a refreshing sense of exhilaration.

The richly layered, heavy band sound—unexpectedly so for something “refreshing,” in a good way—really shines, so you’ll strongly feel SCANDAL as a band.

Even when I’m feeling down, it made me want to keep moving forward.

Take Me Out expresses the coolness of Japan as seen from overseas, as felt firsthand by SCANDAL’s members during their international tours.

With a different musical style from their previous work, it showcases a new side of the band.

It’s a song you can sing and dance to.

PrideSCANDAL

This is SCANDAL’s ninth single, used as the ending theme for the anime STAR DRIVER: Kagayaki no Takuto.

The lyrics, which sing about youthful dreams and hopes in their own words, are encouraging.

The outfits feature a school-uniform motif, and the song is a passionate, youthful rock track.

At the time, there were overwhelmingly few girl bands, and many people were likely captivated by a four-piece of girls in school uniforms playing strongly band-oriented songs.

It’s not a bad thing to let yourself be moved by their unpolished yet straightforward sound.

HELLOSCANDAL

SCANDAL – Hello (STUDIO LIVE – Kana, Romaji, & English Subtitles)
HELLOSCANDAL

It’s a song that combines a somewhat wistful, gentle melody with lyrics about someone you love.

As the line “Let’s go in search of a love that won’t melt” suggests, the lyrics express feelings for a lover you’re hopelessly in love with.

The words depicting winter scenery are beautiful and captivating.

Highly recommended for girls in love!
