DynamiteBTS

In Korea, BTS has gone beyond being just idols and is supported by a wide audience.
Their influence is so immense that people even talk about changing the country’s military service laws to protect their entertainment activities.
How about livening up your school festival with their mega-hit song “Dynamite”? Videos of people dancing to “Dynamite” are posted on TikTok every day.
There are also beginner-friendly remakes of the choreography uploaded on video sites, so even novices are good to go! Plus, Japanese translations of the lyrics are available, so you can sing along rather than just lip-sync—another great selling point of this song!
Permission to DanceBTS

BTS is a music group now beloved by music fans all over the world, known for hit songs like “Butter” and “Dynamite.” Among their tracks, a perfect choice for school festivals is “Permission to Dance,” released in 2021.
It’s an energetic electropop number with a colorful sound palette.
Its bright, catchy melody will have you dancing before you know it.
Give this genre-defying song a listen on that special day when the whole school comes together.
고민보다 GoBTS

BTS commands immense popularity and influence not only in their home country and Japan but also around the world.
With all members having begun their mandatory military service in 2023, fans are eagerly awaiting an early return to activities.
Their choreography—renowned for its extraordinary synchronization and intensity—is not easy to imitate, but a relatively beginner-friendly song to try is “Go Go” (Korean title: “고민보다 Go”).
Also known in Japanese as “悩むよりGo,” this track is included on their 2017 mini-album LOVE YOURSELF 承 ‘Her’.
Compared to many of their other songs, the movements are relatively relaxed and don’t demand as much aggressive power, making it easier to identify each motion and practice.
That said, it features a lot of isolation, so you’ll want to have the basics of dance down.
There’s also a Halloween-themed dance video performed by the members themselves on YouTube, so it’s fun to match the costumes and dance along!

MiracleNCT DREAM

NCT DREAM, a sub-unit of the popular K-pop group NCT, originally had the concept of being a group limited to teenage members, but the graduation system has since been abolished and they are now a seven-member group that’s hugely popular here in Japan as well.
In June 2024, they held their first dome tour in Japan, which was a huge success and still fresh in our memories.
Their catchy songs seem perfect as dance tracks for school festivals, don’t they? This time, I’d like to introduce “Miracle” as a song recommended for beginners.
In fact, this track is a cover of a song by their seniors, SUPER JUNIOR.
With its bittersweet melody and relatively relaxed tempo, it’s easy to dance to as long as you grasp the basic techniques.
The members themselves have also released a dance video, so take your time watching it and do your best to recreate it well!
DDU-DU DDU-DUBLACKPINK

If you want simple choreography but still want to try a cool and sexy dance, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” is highly recommended! It was included on their mini-album “SQUARE UP,” released in Korea in 2018, and later released as a single in Japan.
On their YouTube channel, they’ve posted not only the regular music video but also a dance practice video that clearly shows the choreography, so you’ll be fine if you watch that carefully and practice! Of course, nailing the formations as well as the choreography will make you look that much cooler!
MisterKARA

This is the Japanese debut single of KARA, a five-member South Korean girl group.
Their sexy “hip dance,” which involves shaking the hips, sparked a K-pop boom all at once.
A girl with a cool vibe would score major points if she danced this at a school festival.
DALLA DALLAITZY

If you’re a girl who wants to nail not just cuteness but a cool vibe too, we recommend ITZY’s “DALLA DALLA”! It’s included on their 2019 mini album “IT’z ICY.” The choreography doesn’t just look cool—it’s thoughtfully designed with formations, so when you hit it cleanly, it makes for an incredibly striking stage.
The bouncy jumps and hand movements are super cute, and within that there are slightly sexy moments and cool parts that can rival the guys, so it entertains viewers with lots of different elements!
