[Entrance Ceremony Songs] Classic and Popular Picks That Capture Elementary Schoolers’ Hearts! (51–60)
spring breezeSakushi: Wada Tetsuzou / Sakkyoku: Hirose Ryouhei

The piece created by Tetsuzo Wada and Ryohei Hirose features a charming melody that gently wraps the soft arrival of spring, evoking the breath of nature.
While depicting scenes of the spring breeze caressing budding trees, intertwining its song with babbling streams, and frolicking with grasses and flowers, it conveys the hopeful atmosphere of a new season.
Broadcast on NHK’s “Minna no Uta” from April 1972, it remained in many listeners’ hearts, accompanied by the clear voices of the Arakawa Tokyo Children’s Choir.
In 2012, it returned to radio for the first time in about 40 years as part of the “Minna no Uta Excavation Project.” It is a perfect song for children starting a new school year and for anyone eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring, and will surely continue to be sung for years to come.
RPGSEKAI NO OWARI

The theme song of the movie “Crayon Shin-chan: Very Tasty! B-Class Gourmet Survival!!”.
Many children are probably familiar with Crayon Shin-chan songs from a young age! The rhythm of this one is perfect for the entrance or procession at a school entrance ceremony.
Since it’s a song that kids love, it should help create a bright, cheerful atmosphere for the ceremony.
I’ve grown up! I’m off!

This is a song to cheer on moms and dads as their child starts school.
It portrays the joy and loneliness of watching a child—who’s always been by your side—enter elementary school and begin experiencing all kinds of new things.
Although the song was written about starting kindergarten, it’s just as moving to listen to at an entrance ceremony!
The Root of the Heart

When they were little, they fell down so often and cried so much.
Before we knew it, those moments were gone, and suddenly it was the entrance ceremony.
Their quiet growth makes me happy, yet a little lonely.
This is a song that expresses those deep, reflective feelings.

Hello with a handshake

In kindergartens and nursery schools, there’s time set aside to enjoy hand-play games, and I think the new first graders used to play them often too.
So how about deepening interaction at the entrance ceremony with a short hand-play song? “Hello with a Handshake” is a short song, but since its theme is handshakes, it’s perfect for helping people who are meeting for the first time connect! Even among new first graders, there probably aren’t many chances to talk on the first day, so singing this song and shaking hands might ease their nerves a bit and even help them start making friends.
Like that blue sky

For elementary school students who’ve taken their first step up the stairs with a randoseru on their backs, the song I want them to hear is “Ano Aoi Sora no Yō ni.” Released in 2006, it’s performed by Satoko Yamano and the Mori no Ki Children’s Choir.
Its moving piano sound is perfect for celebrating children’s entrance into school.
The lyrics, which portray a generous heart, evoke images of a bright school life.
It will gently and calmly wrap around children whose hearts are full of excitement.
It’s a song I hope new first graders will sing while looking up at the clear blue sky as their new life begins.
friend

You can feel that indescribable mix of excitement and anxiety before starting elementary school in the song “Tomodachi.” It was written and composed by Naoko Sakurada.
Just like in this song, kids often make friends in no time, don’t they? With the smallest trigger, they become close much more easily than adults expect.
The lyrics convey that feeling and seem to gently stand by those who are anxious.
I’m sure that by the time first graders finish listening to this song, their worries will have disappeared—and they might already be friends with the child sitting next to them.
