manzai (a traditional Japanese stand-up comedy duo performance)

[Official] Time Machine No. 3 – “Kids’ Manzai (Comedy Duo Routine)”
manzai (a traditional Japanese stand-up comedy duo performance)

A manzai comedy routine you can perform at elementary school is a perfect way to make your classmates laugh.

How about teaming up with a friend and using everyday events as your theme? If you take episodes that came from your interactions and give them a slightly humorous twist, they’ll turn into material everyone recognizes.

There’s no need to create everything from scratch.

Just pick up things around you and add a bit of creativity.

With practice, your conversational skills will improve, and the whole class is sure to get excited.

Perform in front of everyone and become the star of the show!

karate kata

karate kata

When people think of karate, they may strongly associate it with kumite—one-on-one sparring—but kata, in which techniques are performed in succession, is also a recognized competitive discipline.

It drew attention when it was included as an official event for the first time at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

In these demonstrations, practitioners perform a continuous sequence of offensive and defensive moves—strikes, kicks, and blocks—whose sharpness and power are truly awe-inspiring to watch.

Whether you practice karate or not, take this opportunity to train and try performing a powerful kata.

flash mob

flash mob

Flash mobs have become popular in Japan lately, haven’t they? They’re often used as surprise elements at weddings and the like.

There have even been flash mobs by elementary school students! The fun part of a flash mob is when passersby or people who seem completely unrelated suddenly join the dance.

If that’s what you’re expecting, this might feel a bit different, but it would still be entertaining if an entire elementary school class suddenly started dancing.

Bottle flip

Do you know the bottle flip challenge? It’s that thing you often see on YouTube or TikTok where you make a plastic bottle land upright.

To explain a bit: you leave about one-third of the liquid in the bottle, flip it once vertically, and try to make it stand upright again.

It looks easy, but it’s actually pretty hard.

If you can nail it in just a few tries, you’re sure to become popular in class.

You can customize it however you like—pull it off consecutively with a friend, or try it with a bigger bottle.

It can be pretty loud, so be mindful of when and where you play.

If you can use instruments in places like the music room, performances like these are the most exciting.

Seeing kids around the same age play so coolly makes it even more moving.

You can’t play an instrument well with just a little practice.

In that sense too, there’s no doubt that a live performance you can’t usually hear will get everyone fired up!

Atarimae Taiso parody song

Atarimae Taiso is a comedy routine by COWCOW, who are active in the comedy scene, and it’s been loved for a long time—not just as a passing fad.

Even the original bit has many versions, and because it’s easy to create parody lyrics, its fun expands and it’s often used as a crowd-pleasing performance.

In addition to this video, there are also parody versions that were done in elementary schools, such as the “Heatstroke Edition” and the “Traffic Safety Edition,” so try looking for them.

Cup performance

Cup performance

Over the past few years, a performance called “cups” has been appearing more and more often in variety shows and the like.

As a rhythm activity, it’s very popular because the sounds and movements are flashy.

Since even elementary school children can do it easily, it’s becoming a staple performance.

It’s a party trick that’s fun both to do and to watch.
