left-right confusionYorushika

It’s a digital single released by the rock band Yorushika in July 2022.
It was written as the theme song for the film Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight, starring Shunsuke Michieda of the hugely popular group Naniwa Danshi—especially among junior high and high school girls—and Riko Fukumoto.
With its origins in a popular manga adaptation and a cast of buzzworthy actors, the film became a major hit.
The song’s lyrics liken the heroine’s memory disorder to left-right confusion, beautifully mirroring the film’s worldview.
Many young listeners have praised it, saying, “I couldn’t stop crying the moment this song played during the end credits,” and “Every time I listen to it, I want to watch the movie again.”
Mela!Ryokushokushakai

It’s a glamorous, mature message song that feels like it clears the fog from your heart! It’s a track by the Aichi-born pop band Ryokushaka (Ryokuoushoku Shakai), released as a single in 2020 and also included on the album SINGALONG.
It’s likely many of you have heard it, as it was featured in commercials and on TV programs.
The stylish animated music video is one of the reasons for its popularity, too.
And Haruko Nagaya’s vocals are truly a pleasure to listen to!

Pokemon shiritoriPokemon ongaku kurabu

“Pokémon Shiritori,” the popular ending theme from the TV anime Pokémon, is based on techno music, yet because it uses shiritori (a word-chain game) as its theme, it’s an easy song for elementary school kids to remember and sing.
It starts with Pikachu, and various Pokémon appear, making it a lot of fun.
Since it’s shiritori, you lose if you end with the syllable “n”! How about getting together with your Pokémon-loving friends and seeing who can sing the whole thing without making a mistake?
Chuapane!Girls²

An energizing song to lift your spirits: “Chu Wa Pane!” The performers are Girls², who are also known for singing theme songs for shows like Secret × Warrior Phantomirage!, Meow Meow Japanese History, and GO! GO! Atom.
Many elementary school girls probably admire them for their cuteness and excellent dancing skills.
This song, which sings about cherishing others, is encouraging just to listen to.
With call-and-response parts, it really livens things up when you sing it at karaoke!
Doraemon: Make My Dreams Come Truemao

This is Mao’s major-label debut single, released on July 4, 2007.
It was used as the opening theme for the TV anime Doraemon.
Since it’s sometimes taught during music class in elementary schools, it’s a song kids hum on their way to and from school.
The lyrics are really lovely, aren’t they?
Yo-kai Exercise No. 1Dream5

This is the ending theme of the anime Yo-kai Watch, which is extremely popular among children.
It’s also famous for being choreographed by Lucky Ikeda.
Even SMAP danced it perfectly on a certain TV show.
Lucky Ikeda’s choreography is designed to be easy for little kids to remember, so I bet every elementary schooler has danced it at least once.
Daijoubumirage²

Girls² is a group formed by eight girls from the three units miracle², magical², and mirage².
Their song “Daijoubu” is Girls²’s debut track and was chosen as the opening theme for the drama Secret × Warrior Phantomirage!.
Making their first starring appearance in a drama at the same time as debuting as a girl group, they’re real-world Cinderella girls.
Be sure to give their fresh and poppy dance number a listen!
