Ling Tosite Sigure’s masterpieces and popular songs (41–50)

Red TemptationRin to shite Shigure

Rather than a typical vocal-centric track, this one leans heavily toward an instrumental feel.

The extended instrumental section in the middle makes the vocals shine brilliantly at the crucial moments.

Not limited to this song, early TK from Ling tosite sigure tracks incorporate many experimental elements, and their distinct, sharper edge—different from the current era—is part of their appeal.

knife vacationRin to shite Shigure

This song with the cool guitar riff in the intro is included on their second album, Inspiration is DEAD.

Throughout the track, the guitar riffs are especially cool, and it’s one of my personal favorites.

It’s a “straight-up cool” kind of song.

ShandyRin to shite Shigure

Unusually for Shigure, this track features piano and synthesizer.

In an interview, they said they tried something fresh but it came together naturally, and I think it’s fair to say the song blends new challenges while still feeling quintessentially Shigure.

The Truth About the TelecasterRin to shite Shigure

I think it’s a song with great vibes that makes you want to jump and get hyped.

The vocalist has a high voice, and as I listened, I felt my mood lift more and more.

The band’s performance is also really captivating, so once you hear it, it’s the kind of addictive track that makes you want to listen again.

The gentle singing voice and the relaxed melody slipped easily into my ears, making it a song I felt I could really focus on the lyrics.

And while the lyrics felt a bit heavy, I also felt like I was being shown that there’s this kind of way to express things.

They are a three-piece rock band that debuted in 2005.

One of their defining features is the female bassist who also handles vocals, adding excitement to their songs.

They are known for their poignant, melodious lyrics that capture listeners’ hearts.

The sense of unity at their live shows is also a major part of their appeal.
